Food was ok, great chicago hotdog and fries. . Italian sausage didn’t taste fresh. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Bathrooms were disgusting and my feet were sticking to the floor. This place has always been a standard in our rotation but not anymore. Also has gotten very pricey. Makes me wonder if it’s been sold??

Ya this place sucks since the new owner took over. Huge miscommunication between what he enters vs what the kitchen makes. Constantly blames the system. 3 people were in line and the phone rings and he tells the staff not to answer because they're too busy.

The hot dog was very tasty, but $1.10 for a squirt of cheese, bringing the total to over $5 for a hot dog? Really?The man at the cash register, taking orders, said they were down two people. That's stl no reason to be barking at your customers.

So sad to be posting this review since I've been coming to Don's since I've been 9 years old, over 20 years ago. The past two times I've been in there, the guy at the register (John might be his name?) has been completely disgusting and inappropriate. First time he called me sexy multiple times before taking my order and then wouldn't stop making stupid jokes. The second time I came in he yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT? I have a bunch of angry women in here", then after I ordered made an extremely unprofessional joke about being a p*rn star and then was shouting to other customers asking what their occupations were. He is beyond creepy and unfortunately that was my last time stepping in that building and giving them my business. Customers (especially women not wanting to be harassed), stay FAR AWAY.

The food is always good and hot. This last time the little confused and the guy that usually works in the back to cook. The food was out in front taking orders and he had no idea at all. What he was doing and actually angered a couple of older women that had came in by his comments. Also, their prices have gone app big time. It's like $15 for a hot dog. A small fry and a small drink. Not sure if I'm going Back.

All I can say is WOW! Warning if you are paying cash the owner will not give you the change back and he throws it in the tip car and goes thanks for the tip, I looked at him strangely and he says oh do you want it back, I laughed and said no it's fine, But him automatically doing this is not right. If I want to tip at a fast food restaurant I will but do not take my money automatically. Also I watched him while I was eating he did this to everyone that paid cash, He also was ringing up other peoples order and ringing up more expensive items and they were going back up to get their money back . He was also very rude to a couple with a special needs daughter who he snapped at. The customer yelled back at him. He should have walked out. I will not be returning the owner is unbelievable

I’m so disappointed and sad to say I will never eat at dons hotdog again. This new owner is a tool and quality sucks and atmosphere sucks. I never see any original staff anymore and I wonder why. I’ve been coming here since I was 12 years old, I even started taking my daughters here years ago. Ever since they changed ownership the love and passion has left this once great place. Knowing from the little interactions I’ve had from with the owner, these reviews won’t matter. I work with the original owners family member and I report to them all the time lately that this new owner is disgraceful and ruining the Don’s name. Our community that fell in love with the Don’s we once knew needs to get this joke of an owner out of here. Please I think it’s time us OG customers take a stand and not return to this place and remember the good experience we once had.

First time here since moving to the area five years ago. No complaints about the food it was very good. A little expensive but tasted very good. But the restaurant area and restrooms were not clean, and that is putting it mildly. Not sure it won't be another five years before stopping here again.
I loved the organic Don's. This place is good but not as good as the one on 151sr street. It doesn't seem like they steam their buns here. They were kind of hard and cold. But otherwise good, better than Joey's any day.

Use to go to Dons all the time. It was great. Recently went back and wow, it’s gone downhill, which I’m sad to see.Food was not how I remembered it, they must’ve changed food vendors because the quality was comparable to hospitals cafeteria food. Plus, you just cant have customers waiting 20+ minutes at a hotdog joint. The owner needs to pull his head out of his caboose and run this place properly or call it quits.

Overpriced and under staffed. I ordered a hotdog with fries and waited twenty minutes only to ask for a refund. I went to Joey's hotdogs just down the street. I got my hotdog and fries (the fries are included at Joey's not at this place. )it took all of 30 seconds and it cost less. Never go back!This place sucks ?
