I and my girlfriend were in Ottowa after hiking at Mattheisson, and decided to look through the selection of restaurants.

After picking Iniga, we stopped in and were BLOWN AWAY.

The atmosphere and service were phenomenal!

Our server, Brent, was articulate, fast, and helped us grasp the distinctly italian menu. When our selected appetizer came out, we knew we were in for one of the best meals we've ever had.

And then THE PIZZA showed up! It was worth every dollar! I've never had better, and it was such an exquisite experience! I ordered the Hot White, and my partner the pepperoni special.

Thank you again, Brent and Iniga, for a perfect meal to our first day traveling in Illinois.

If you're looking for a good place to eat in Ottowa after a long hike, COME HERE!

This place is amazing- the food is so light and fresh and made in a traditional Napolitano style, with a wood fired oven, and the results are incredible. The 'buttura' is topped with pesto and fresh cheese- delicious. Every pizza is unique and interesting! You won't be disappointed!

Iniga Pizzeria Napoletana in Ottawa, Illinois is the kind of place that makes you rethink what pizza should taste like. Tucked into a cozy spot on Jefferson Street, it’s got that warm, welcoming vibe that instantly feels like home—but with the aroma of a wood-fired oven working its magic. Their Margherita pizza? Absolute perfection. The crust has that ideal leopard spotting, crisp on the outside and tender inside, with just the right chew. The sauce is bright and balanced, the mozzarella melts like a dream, and the fresh basil adds that final aromatic punch that ties it all together.
What I love most is how Iniga stays true to Neapolitan tradition while still feeling fresh and modern. You can tell they care about ingredients and technique, but they don’t make it feel fussy. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the whole experience—from the playlist to the plating—feels thoughtfully curated without being overdone.
Whether you’re swinging through town or making it a destination after a hike at Starved Rock, Iniga is worth the detour. I’ve tried a few of their other pizzas, but I keep coming back to the Margherita. It’s simple, classic, and done exactly right.

The food here is nothing short of delicious. The variety of unique cocktails and iced tea and the pizza full of toppings that all compliment each other nicely is why this restaurant should be #1 on your list of places to try in Ottawa IL.

We got three pizzas for carry out. They were small enough that I could have eaten all 3 on my own, there wasn't much sauce on them, so I honestly can't tell you if I would like the sauce or not. There was A LOT of crust, and there was not much for toppings either. Not worth 20$ a pizza. I was disappointed with the food, but the inside of the restaurant looked very nice and the employees were very friendly.

10/10 stars if I could. Came here for dinner with a group of friends after a long day of hiking and we were not disappointed! The food, the service, I have only positive things to say! The man that was our server had the best personality - very welcoming! I got the funghi pizza which was out of this world good! For dessert I had the deconstructed lemon cake and it really hit the spot. Not a single complaint was made amongst my large group about their food. I wish this place was in Cleveland!

Delicious dishes, fresh high quality ingredients, and attentive service. Creative recipes give plenty of choices to try something interesting.

We had the beet salad, Polpette (lamb meatballs over polenta), Angiolette Fritti Salad for starters. All amazing.

Then the pizzas had perfect crust with just the right amount of leopard spotting, with tasty sauce.

The dessert (deconstructed Lemon cake) was tasty...

And the music selection that night was great (Steely Dan, 80’s mix, etc)

The eggplant poutine with marinara and fresh mozzarella was delicious. We baseline the margherita pizza at every pizza joint we go to and this one is solid. The butterfly pea tea lemonade is unique and pretty to look at. The staff were great and amenable. I appreciate their attention to detail for their customers.
