I really really wanted to like this restaurant and was looking forward to coming here for a month. We tried a number of their dishes including the kharchapuri, dumplings, lamb kabobs with salad, and a beef/tomato curry dish along With an amazingly overpriced pickles platter that was just beyond disappointing. Overall the food was very disappointing, Service was slow despite the server being a very kind gentleman. It just felt like the entire restaurant wasn't working correctly. Furthermore, the bar wasn't staffed and so we could not get any drinks beyond soft drinks, beer, or wine. The prices were rather absurd for what came out of the kitchen with the exception of the dumplings which were really excellent and a fair price. If you came solely for the dumplings and the Khatchapuri, you would have a good experience but I would avoid the rest of it especially anything off the grill.

This restaurant has absolutely delicious, hearty, and filling food, drink, amazing and efficient service, and a really fun audience! They were gracious enough to lend their beautiful space for belly dance performance and I had the best time performing so thank you! Afterwards despite the busy staff serving a 200+ crowd they were able to provide me with food and drink quickly and efficiently and helped me with recommendations. They are friendly and inviting! If you are hesitating to go to this restaurant just go already and you will not regret it! ♥️

Had a wonderful dinner and watched a Bellydance showcase featuring students from Chicagoland. This was my fist experience with Georgian food and found everything to be flavorful and a good deal. We had the PHALI MIX which was a great mix of cold apps, dolmas and the table raved about the beet salad- TBILISURI SALAD. My husband had the OJAKHURI lamb and was raving about them the next day. The showcase was a treat and it was nice to have live entertainment and the dancers were fun to watch! I am excited to leave the city to eat there again!

I got food poisoning from this place. It is ridiculously overpriced, the food was average at best and lacked flavor, the meat on those dumplings was probably bad or undercooked. Anything there was absolutely not worth what they charge. I should have trusted the recent negative reviews, because my experience was similar. They automatically add a 20% service charge without clearly informing you. They do not bring a physical check to review, only the payment terminal, so you are unable to properly see your bill before paying. That is extremely deceptive. Between the hidden service charge, the slow service, and the mediocre food, this felt like a scam. While the performances may be the highlight for some guests, they were not enough to make up for the disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend this place at all.

I want to share a concern about one of your security staff members. While I understand that not all of your team behaves this way, one security guard acted very unprofessionally. He asked my husband to step outside without any explanation, and when we complied, he still couldn’t explain the reason for the request. He then spoke to me in a very rude manner that is wholly inappropriate and unacceptable when addressing a woman. I am disappointed by this behavior and strongly recommend that management ensure all security staff receive appropriate training and conduct themselves professionally. Incidents like this can reflect poorly on your business, and I hope steps are taken to prevent similar experiences in the future. Additionally, when I asked to speak with a manager or the security supervisor, I was told that no one was available. However, I find it unlikely that there are no managers on duty during the night.

⚠️ ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE – BORDERLINE SCAM ⚠️ We (me and my two sons) came to this restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. We were seated around 8:00 PM, ordered food and drinks, and spent well over $100. Food prices were okay, drinks were overpriced ($16 each), but still — fine. Then came the shock. After sitting inside the restaurant for about two hours, we stepped outside for a few minutes just to get some fresh air. When we tried to come back in, staff REFUSED to let us return unless we paid AGAIN — $35 PER PERSON. Let that sink in: We already had a table. We were already customers. We already paid a large bill. And they demanded over $100 just to walk back to our own table. I have NEVER seen anything like this in the USA 🇺🇸. This is deceptive, greedy, and completely disrespectful to customers. There was NO clear warning, no explanation beforehand — just a surprise charge after you’re already committed. This ruined my son’s birthday dinner. Be extremely careful if you go here. Step outside for a minute, and you may be forced to pay again or be locked out. This place clearly prioritizes money over basic customer respect.Total we spent for food and drinks around 300$ tips ( they charge upfront )with and and another 100 $ paid for re-enter !! I am extremely disappointed with how much Aragvi restaurant has deteriorated. I have been coming here since the day it opened and have hosted more than one event at this restaurant, so I never expected to have such a terrible experience. Yesterday we were seated in the bar area, with tables squeezed between the bar and the wall. It felt like a hallway rather than a restaurant. People were constantly walking through our space without any consideration. There was absolutely no feeling of comfort or privacy. At the bar there were clearly intoxicated, inappropriate men who were staring in an uncomfortable way and even making unpleasant comments. It made the atmosphere feel unsafe and unwelcoming.
The music was another big disappointment. It was old and mostly Ukrainian, which felt very strange for a Georgian restaurant. To request a decent song, you apparently have to pay the DJ, which may explain why such outdated and unpleasant music was playing all evening.
When I arrived at the entrance, the hostesses were sitting and laughing, completely ignoring me. I stood there waiting until I finally greeted them first. They responded with clear reluctance, and their smiles disappeared immediately.
The corridor inside the restaurant was very cold and dirty. Thankfully, the food itself has not declined, but the restaurant as a whole now feels more like a cafeteria than a proper dining establishment. The overall energy and atmosphere were extremely unpleasant.
I will never return to this restaurant and will not recommend it to my friends. I understand that this review may not change anything, but it is truly sad to see yet another once-great restaurant lose its quality and level of service.
