“The persons were nice and welcoming just like the place, and the food was delicious. Honestly in my opinion it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had. The one with sauce on it is the California Crunch Roll. It’s a mix of delicious flavors with a bit of sweet to it, and it was delicious I really recommend it. And the other one is called Big Mouth, it’s a bit spicy but it’s really good. Specially if you like spicy stuff I recommend it. But overall I totally recommend this place, and you can also takeout which is really helpful if your in a hurry.”

“My previous review was accidentally deleted by me, but let me just say that this is by far the best bar around the Chicagoland area. Firstly, let me start by raving about Colleen, the GOAT of bartenders! She is an absolute sweetheart! From the first day she made me feel at home! If you are new, she goes up to you, introduces herself and hands you a napkin. She has the most awesome and proper etiquette for the hospitality industry. Colleen is an absolute godsend! I do not know a single person who badmouths her. She also makes the best margaritas and rums/cokes! She remembers your name as wel and starts calling you by your name on the second day. The other bartenders are amazing as well. On Tuesdays and Thursdays when I go in, Lisa remembers my drink and food order. She is also a gem as well! As far as the food goes, the chicken bacon ranch wrap is one of the best I have ever eaten. The Cheddar Cheese burger is amazing as well. Seriously this place is a great find. As far as the reviews calling this place racist are concerned, to each their own: I have never had any issues and I am disabled and asian that is like a double negative. It is the most inclusive place around town!”

Miso Ramen and Taiwan Ramen are fantastic, but beware that single pepper icon, because it’s no joke! (And I say this as someone who grew up eating spicy food 🙂) Delicious, but intense! I would LOVE to see a milder version of the Taiwan Ramen (or at least a way to adjust the heat, like the Spicy Miso), because the flavor was truly amazing and addictive.”

“We went with our Burger Club to Lucky Burgers (a.k.a. Jelly Cafe after dark or 4pm, whichever comes first).

Jelly Cafe is a breakfast and lunch place open 7am until 2pm. Then they switch over to Lucky Burgers which is open from 4pm until no one is there and they want to go home. Though technically I think they’re open until 8 or 9pm.

There are a handful of items on the Lucky Burgers’ menu: about 5 variations of their classic burger, a chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and waffle fries.

When we went, the place was empty and never got busy. Which opened the door for one of the owners, Scott, to regale us with tales of days gone by from his childhood in Evanston and the famous people he knew, grew up with, and worked with. It was nice hearing these stories and it was nice to give Scott something and somebodies to talk to as well.

The place has a large parking lot and is nice and clean on the inside. There is a tiny area with slot machines and a small bar/counter at the entrance.

The burgers are all smashburgers. They come as singles or double patties. Go for the double as there’s not a whole lot of meat once they’re smashed. The differences are the toppings. Scott recommends their housemade dijonaise sauce which is good, but ask for it on the side. The cook slathers it on the burger and that’s all you can taste. Once I scooped (you read that correctly) the sauce off my burger, it was a pretty good burger. The meat is seasoned well and cooked nicely and the bun holds up (despite dripping in dijonaise).

We all shared the chicken tenders as an appetizer. Five nice sized tenders come in the meal and you can choose your dipping sauce. Scott recommended their honey mustard which was very good and the ranch wasn’t bad either.

He is also johnny-on-the-spot to refill fill your drinks. I seriously thought that I would float away.

The best part is the price. All said and done for a burger, waffle fries, and a soda, with tax and tip is like $15-$18 bucks.

It’s a nice place that I need to go back to and visit for the Jelly Cafe side. AND return for their burgers, tenders, and more of Scott’s stories.”

“Nice little spot with great outdoor seating and a cozy little interior. The board games available inside is a nice touch. Ordered the slushy and it was pretty solid. However, I would not recommend ordering any of the sundaes other than maybe the banana split. Portion sizes for those are a bit small and I found the price tag of nearly 8 dollars to be unreasonable especially for soft serve ice cream. Besides that though jts a great spot and I would definitely recommend it!”

I ordered my usual 2 Chorizó breakfast bagel sandwiches and 2 Nova Lox sandwiches, but this time i also ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast Sandwich and Churro Party Bagel --Everything was fresh and delicious, just like every order I've placed at this location! The crew here is very calm, pleasant and professional, during peak rush times like today(there were 5 or 6 people in line ahead of me plus 3 other people waiting for their order). Although my pick up order wasn't ready because the bagels i originally ordered were already out of stock, they had an even better alternative bagel available (the cheddar jalapeño one) still available, so I had that bagel instead for my 3 breakfast sandwiches, which proved to be a great choice! Anyway, I usually eat my order in my truck in their lot, while everything is still fresh and hot and watch Howard Stern interview videos on SiriusXM, so in a way, the whole thing with not having my original bagel choices available, worked out! With the consistently large number of customers who pack the lot and drive thru every time I come here, plus this location's staying power over the many years it's been in Palatine, it deserves a much higher rating--so that 2 star rating on Yelp.com doesn't appear to be accurate nor believable at all!!”

“My God. In a world where people are chins on food, I opened up my chicken pita and found an explosion of delicious seasoned chicken. It was plenty full in fact I had to use a fork to finish it. I couldn’t believe how tender it was and how friendly the service was. A real tree to find a restaurant that still cared.”
