“Chiggy’s Gyros has been part of my life since they opened.. an amazing 29 years ago, and somehow it’s still just as good as I remember from day one. In a world where so many places change ownership, cut corners, or lose what made them special, Chiggy’s has stayed consistently amazing. The gyros are always fresh, flavorful, and piled high, the fries are perfect, and the service has always felt welcoming and genuine.

What really makes this place special is the memories tied to it. It’s become one of those comfort spots you keep coming back to through every stage of life. After nearly three decades of eating here, I can honestly say Chiggy’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a local institution. “Where do I even begin? The pita? Perfect texture and taste. The cherry tomatoes? Obviously fresh, juicy, and sourced from a great farm. The romain? Plentiful and CRISP. The Dill and Taziki sauce? Also VERY fresh, has a citrus kick somewhere, and seems to be made fresh as well. Because it doesn't taste like a store bought sauce filled with preservatives. The hummus? That might actually be where the citrus is from. However, the hummus is not overly salty! You can actually taste the Chickpeas and they use good ingredients as well as olive oil for the hummus too! The chicken? Is in NO way shape or form dry and it's actually seasoned! It's juicy and normal is it overcooked. The olives? Brothers and sisters I HATE olives by themselves, rarely on certain foods. But these olives are not overpowering and stealing the flavor profile, it just adds more depth to the flavor bomb of the Greek chicken Pita! The feta? What could be bettah? Seriously though if you can see this picture you should've seen that they don't skip on the feta either. Again the flavor is ALL the way there but not overpowering. While the texture is almost creamy. Probably with assistance from the sauce but still, it's not overly dry! 10/10 Would recommend & I will be back! Now the facility was spotless, the cleanest "fast food" I've ever seen. The staff? Phenomenonal, personable, kind, attentive to details, and downright superstars that make that place run like clockwork! Wooooo wo weeeee wo!!! If you haven't been here then you've got to go!! Moderate prices, exceptional ingredients, lovely staff, and clean facilities(where the staff actually care like the NW Expressway location in OKC). I'm out, ty for listening to my Ted talk! 🫡“

“We're in Chicago for a week and we stopped to eat here twice. Delicous, clean, filling and fresh.

The fried laghman noodles were nice and had a great chew. The veggies were cooked perfectly, the meat was tender and the overall dish was not super oily like others we've tried. Portion is bigger than it looks so go hungry.

The ayrim sai laghman was also delicious and light.

The plov was also delicious and not too oily. The raisins were plump and were great with the savory rice. And of course quail eggs with plov are always perfect.

The white dumpling soup (chuch wara) had a great broth and dumplings were well cooked and tasty.

Most important is to try the bread! The bread is sooooo delicious and cooked in a tandoor. Samsa is also cooked in tandoor and is super juicy!

“I love the Beef Swarma Entree when you substitute Hummus for the rice. The Cucumber and Tomato salad which comes with it is also excellent. You also get a piece of Pita Bread with the Entree. Also try their Baklava variety pack. Really great selection of different types of Baklava.“

The food was just as impressive—super fresh and full of flavor. I ordered two bowls: the Harissa Chopped Salad and the Mezze Protein Bowl, and both were absolutely delicious. Great balance of ingredients, well-seasoned, and very satisfying.

“Update: Looking back 8 years later, we still remember what a fantastic experience we had at Skippers Restaurant. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere made it a memorable stop during our travels.

The service stood out just as much as the food. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It had that classic local restaurant feel where you could tell people truly enjoyed coming there.

What really stayed with us over the years was the quality and consistency of the experience. Great food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere are what make restaurants memorable, and Skippers definitely delivered all three.

As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we have explored restaurants all across Illinois and beyond, and this is still one of the places we remember positively years later. Easy 5 stars from us.

“I tried the Hot Honey Harissa Bowl with chicken at Roti, and it was excellent. The chicken was flavorful, the saffron rice made the bowl hearty, and the hot honey harissa added a great sweet heat without overpowering everything.
The cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled onions, feta, garlic sauce, and pita all worked really well together. Every bite had a good mix of freshness, spice, creaminess, and Mediterranean flavor.
Great meal, generous portion, and definitely something I would order again.“

“Cheese dog was literally a wrinkled hot dog drowned in nacho cheese sauce. The polish was on a French roll & difficult to bite into. I had it with all the toppings & it was only a few sliced of onions & a few green peppers slices. Not much toppings. I don't recommend those two. Other meals looked good though. Mine were just... disappointing.“

“Discovered this place when I moved to hoffman estates in 2016 and I've enjoyed their food since then. Never had a problem or issue with their food. Great flavor, especially their Tawwa rice. Not a typical place to sit and eat since it's so small. Best to order take out.“

“Nice, clean restaurant and was not too crowded for Sunday dinner except someone's party. Food was okay nothing exceptional that I was anticipating. I have had more tastier Nihari at Usmania, Sabri or Ali Nihari. BBQ was good but karahi needs more reasonable fixing. We liked the paratha poori, Naan and parathas were freshly made and hot to touch. Staff was polite and courteous.
The parking lot needs fixing. We used disability parking but the walkway was so rocky, uneven and so far from the entrance that my dad almost fell with his rollator. It definitely needs fixing before a lawsuit happens“

Not just for airport food, but just in general, the steak in my steak bowl was fresh, the guy behind the counter was super nice, and my fiancée's falafel bowl was great too!
