Restaurant Ararat Reviews
Very good authentic food. The sweetest owner!
This is not a typical restaurant it is an experience more similar to having a home cooked meal made by your grandmother. They make Everything from scratch with love and experience. If you're in a hurry this is not the place to go because they put way too much love in preparing an awesome meal that you will never forget. This is an authentic Mediterranean restaurant not some chain place that doesn't even compare. From soup to desserts Everything is absolutely amazing and professional...read full review

Restaurant Ararat offers authentic Eastern bloc, Georgian, and Armenian cuisine in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is a small, hidden gem tucked inside a shopping mall in Mundelein, with about eight tables that create an intimate dining experience. The owners provide excellent service and are happy to recommend dishes, explaining the menu to guests. The food is made to order using fresh, top-quality ingredients, ensuring each dish is delicious and hot. Popular dishes include Armenian style grilled eggplant (Khorovats), beef and lamb dumplings (Khinkili), and kebabs, such as Lamb and Chicken. The menu features generous portions, with appetizers like Italian Lady's Fingers—a salad of cooked bell peppers, nuts, onion, and prunes—and small dumplings that are highly praised. The wine and drink selection is unique, with Armenian apricot wine being a favorite. The restaurant's cleanliness and professionalism add to its charm, making it a great place for a casual, relaxed, and delicious dining adventure. The food takes a bit of time to come out, but that's because everything is made to order. The owner's wife is super friendly, and the restaurant has an ethnic vibe that most places lack these days. The owner is generous and serves free tea to customers.
