I got shot here in 1993 and honestly still a 5/5 experience would come again
Not a great experience. The fried chicken was fried perfectly but had absolutely no flavor. We ordered spicy chicken tenders and there was zero spice to them and they weren’t crispy enough. The fritters, breadsticks, mashed potatoes, and biscuits were all good enough. We paid over $5 for a side order of coleslaw, and while it was good, it was an absolute ridiculously small portion. Definitely not worth $5 and it did not match the photo online. The worst part of our order was the buffalo mac n cheese. Before even opening the container I could see that it wasn’t going to be good. The cheese both resembled and tasted like generic canned cheese sauce. And they didn’t even bother mixing the noodles into the cheese. There were bare noodles with cheese poured over them. The presentation was massively disappointing. You’d think for almost $17 they would care enough to at least take the time to combine the ingredients instead of making their customers do it.
Overall it was a very bland and disappointing food experience. You’re better off going to Popeyes or even KFC.

Oh my God I got the baked beans I swear they came right out of a can of Campbell's pork and beans can. the chicken sandwich was utterly disgusting an undercooked the only thing good was the coleslaw and the mashed potatoes I certainly would never go there again and I don't understand there's some people saying this is the best chicken in Palatine

I placed an order over the phone on December 21 for Christmas Eve catering. I said I would be there at 4:30 pm. When I arrived to pick up my food, none of it was ready. I had to wait an hour for my order. Even worse, when I got home, I discovered items from my order were missing. The French bread was missing for the Italian beef. The mashed potatoes were also missing. I had to drive all the way back to Palatine from Mundelein to pick up these missing items. I was already way behind schedule for serving dinner for my family and guests since I waited an hour to get my food. Now my hungry guests had to wait even longer. All of the original food was now cold due to the delay of picking up the missing items from the order. Jennifer at Browns was very friendly and apologetic. We received a free mostaccioli and some extra pieces of chicken for the inconvenience. However, we should have received a partial refund.
I will say that the food was excellent. Everything was fresh. The chicken was very moist and everyone was happy with the quality of the food.

Nope. This is so sad. I didn’t know until recently that these were new owners, the retired brothers were excellent. The chicken was always fresh with the browned crispy coating. This is NOT the delicious Browns of the past, so don’t go here if that’s what you think you’ll get. It was greasy like it was fried yesterday. The chicken even had a bad taste. Why do owners think they can skimp & change things & customers won’t know??
Other than friendly service, this place is zero stars!!

They are under new management and they get the order wrong every time, even when we're the only customers. They always forget 1 or 2 items like the fries, the mushrooms or a wing. They're very slow too and the old owner never made a mistake. We'll never go back to this location and definitely don't recommend them.

Staff was friendly sides were good but the chicken wasn't as good as I had remembered it to be. Not much of a crunchy crust. We did carry out, it was not crowded at all.

Monday morning 40min after open. This restaurant was filthy. Grease sained table cloths with chicken breading on them, floors covered with bits of food and debris, filthy carpets. They've opened for the start of the week 40min ago and keep the place like a dump. Imagine how filthy the kitchen is. The one star of because they refunded me.
I picked up a few biscuits to have with dinner and all of them were disgusting. They were soggy, the insides were dry like they sat out for several hours, and the bottoms looked undercooked. I don't know if I got unlucky, or they changed how they handle the food here

Great Italian sausage with marinara and giardiniera. Only place around you can get it and really good. Bread is great as well. Forgot it was there in the Ace mall. Definitely go back.

Isn't that where there was a massacre in January 1993 with 7 unfortunate victims?
Browns is talk of the town. They are very attentive to making great fried chicken. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. They cook the food fresh and ready to eat and they maintain the restaurant clean. Amazing fried chicken. Must come back. They put a smile on customers faces. 10/10
Better chicken than Popeyes, Kentucky fried, and Chick-fil-A !! Plus the owner is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting !!
