I heard about this place so I decided to stop in since I was in the area.

They advertise as a bakery but in my opinion they are a bakery, deli, small grocery store and a sandwich shop.

They didn't have a lot of bakery goods when I visited but they did have a nice selection of pre made Polish foods as well as homemade pierogis.

I did buy a few items as well as Oplatki..a traditional Polish wafer used for the Christmas Eve blessing before everyone eats.

Would like to go back and try one of their hot or cold sandwiches when I'm in the area again.

Very good food and beautifully presented. The potato cheeze perogi and French fries cooked in beef tallow are amazing. Baked chicken thighs cooked in its own fat(no oils) so moist and seasoned nicely. Spring salad in olive oil is so fresh, awesome salad! Entries can be altered to your requirements, too. Lovely atmosphere and cool music of the 1980's. Coffee is awesome including the charming ceramic cup and matching saucer. Beautiful and friendly staff. They go above and beyond! They recently added decaf coffee.

We hired Kolatek's to make our wedding cake, and it was absolutely phenomenal!

From the initial tasting to our wedding day, we were blown away by both the kindness of the team and the exceptional quality of their work.

One of our top priorities was using organic ingredients, and the team at Kolatek's went above and beyond to make our wedding cake organic — something no other bakery we spoke with was able or willing to do. We were so grateful for their willingness to support our values.

And of course, the cake itself was incredible! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was.

I can’t recommend Kolatek's highly enough for wedding cake!

One of the best meals I’ve enjoyed in a long time. My schnitzel dinner was fantastic. Crispy and juicy, grilled veggies were full of flavor and potatoes were earthy and juicy. We loved the fresh atmosphere. The food is fresh and made with lots of attention to quality. The multilingual staff are friendly and enthusiastic about the business. Might become regulars….

We’re doing a tour of Palatine’s desserts, and Kolatek Baking Company quickly became a favorite stop of ours. The honey cake stood out right away and is recommendd. It was soft, fragrant, and just sweet enough without being heavy. The sweet cheese pierogi were another hit, creamy inside with a light, tender dough that tasted homemade. The staff was kind and patient, and the bakery had a warm, welcoming feel. Everyone at my party loved what they ordered, and we all agreed Kolatek sets a high bar for dessert spots in Palatine.

Absolutely delicious! Not sure why I waited as long as I did to try the new Bistro model. Love the spin on classic Polish food, -almost- like grandma used to make. The blueberry pierogi are the best I’ve had from a restaurant, better than many homemade recipes as well. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.
