Just rode by, I read the building permit, apparently temporarily closed for remodeling.

Sign on the door says closed for remodeling but has been there for some time. No news on new ownership or what may happen at this location in the future. It will be missed.

Loved this place; sadly the temporarily closed might have changed to permanently closed. First Wally's now Andrew's; what's the world coming to?

Best for dinner. Their roasted chicken is really good. They pay attention to details.... Like flavor!

Tonight, August 21st, 2021, was my first visit to Andrew’s. What a complete pleasure! I am a very health conscious vegan, so imagine my delight to discover their large healthy salad that met all my dietary needs and filled me up for a very reasonable price. My friends (who are regulars) had the Greek salad and the tilapia. Like me, they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. As for the service, it was outstanding. The server was prompt, friendly, and attentive to all our needs. Our glasses stayed full, and at no time were we rushed. A+ to Andrew’s! We will be back!

Mediocre. Greek salad was wonderful. Followed by chicken rice soup that was kinda gelatinous and tasted as if thickened with corn starch. I’ve had better soup out of a red and white can. Sirloin steak was ordered medium rare. It was medium. It was kinda grainy, as if run thru a tenderizer. It did not taste prime as advertised. I’m from San Francisco so pricing seemed fine to me, but I was told by my dinner companion that pre Covid price of $9.95 for 1/2 chicken is now $15.95. Seems like a big hike but what do I know? Oh yeah, side veggies with our entrees? Way overcooked green beans with some red mush (pimentos? Red bell pepper) and onions. The ribs looked really good. I should have ordered ribs. Not sure if I’ll give this place a second chance next time I’m in town. If they don’t up their game, nobody will be giving them any chances. They seem tired.

Excellent tasty fresh food for a good value in a comfy atmosphere with friendly service. Doesn't get much better than this!

Update: Andrew's has increased their prices to a tragic degree. Pork Chops cost triple what they used to. The food is still great and they still serve the best bottomless bread in Chicagoland, but they are not quite costly.

I had the worst dining experience of my life here last night. I have eaten here in years past with no problems but for a restaurant known for chicken where half their daily specials and much of their menu is devoted to chicken dishes, they were OUT of chicken. To add to that they were unable to serve alcohol due to issues with their license. Okay. I can be flexible. But when they brought our meals they brought my guest a completely different dish than she had ordered. We sent it back to be corrected but it took almost an hour for her to be served again. I had ordered 2 complete meals & 3 appetizers to bring home to my family when we originally ordered & those were brought out prior to my guests corrected dinner. Twice I spoke to the manager. His attitude was one of the worst I've ever seen in a restaurant. He basically shrugged & smirked throughout the issues and on my second request to speak to him he insisted my guest ordered the wrong meal that had been served to her. Very combative! I was not looking for something for nothing but he grudgingly comped 2 desserts on a $145 tab not including the tip. I will say that our server did her best. She was new and you could tell she was embarrassed by the lack of customer service on the managers part. She was polite & professional and was tipped appropriately for her efforts. I appreciate all servers working throughout these strange times and she was not responsible for everything lacking at the restaurant yesterday. I will also add the dining room was almost empty. There was one other table and 2 people eating at the bar (obviously not drinking) so there was simply no excuse for the slow food preparation. It would have been nice to eat along with my guest instead of an hour apart. I personally will never return but I suggest calling ahead to make sure they can serve cocktails as well as offer a full menu because if you have any difficulties, management will not care. I also suggested they could have disclosed before seating us that chicken and alcohol were not available to which the manager shrugged. Additionally although largely insignificant they were also out of tomatoes!! Good luck to Andrew's in keeping this place open.
