I had a great time visiting this store for the first time. They offer a to taste everything and I was very comfortable ordering knowing what I liked. Highly recommend!

Great smoked salmon

Recently (9/9/25) I picked up some fish I caught , Chinook Salmon & Brown Trout, that I took to this establishment to have smoked. I normally smoke it myself or take it to a well known smoke house in Chicago, however,this place was highly recommended by a good friend. So I decided to give them a try. I got the maple flavor on three filets and the lemon garlic on the last filet. I was very disappointed. The fish was so salty from the brine it was almost inedible. The biggest letdown was, there was barely any smoked flavor. Not even the faintest hint of maple or garlic/ lemon, just salt. I don’t know if this is this is the flavoring and method that they are known for or l just happened to catch them on a off day, in any case,I can’t recommend anyone to have their fish smoked there. The shop in itself has every type of smoked meat you could think of. The staff is professional and courteous and the store is immaculate. If you decide to patronize this establishment, perhaps do what I should of done and ask for a sample, then decide for yourself. Although the customer service was great can’t say that about the fish.

I pictured this fishery to be somewhat different. I didn't realize it was Polish. It was good, but it had different flavoring that just a fishery that smokes everything.

My new favorite food store in all of Chicagoland, and one of the best anywhere. You have to try it!

I’ve purchased Zakopianska sausage and smoked fish from here several times before and it’s usually delicious. However, the quality this Good Friday was disappointing. The sausage looked unusually puffy, and upon consuming, it was clear it hadn’t been fully finished—large chunks of fat remained uncooked, and it reeked so strongly of smoke that the odor filled my fridge, home, and even followed me to Easter Sunday at a guest’s home. As for the smoked mackerel, it wasn’t properly cleaned—the gills were still intact, which ruined the flavor. Very unfortunate, especially during such an important holiday. Will not return.

Not only a smoked fish market, but they also have a variety of their own smoked meats and sausages, various sides and refrigerated items. I noticed a sign for rotisserie chicken, and they have some breads and pastries. I dropped off almost 10 pounds of Lake Trout to be smoked. The young woman at the counter was very helpful and friendly, and the trout was ready the next day! I asked if they would add the same seasonings to the trout as they add to their smoked salmon that they sell, and they agreed. I chose the Vegetable seasoning for the filet and Lemon Garlic for steak cuts. Both came out delicious and very moist, I will definitely return, if not for my own fish, but also for their smoked salmon.

Truly does have the best variety and quality of smoked fish. They also has a lot of various sausages. Soups and other sides great also. Been going for years. A regular stop and for smoked fish a hidden gem for many...

Good place if you are looking for fresh fish or smoked one

Smock salmon very tasty and I’m not big on fish but this way we like.
Toasted bagel with some cream cheese and lemon garlic salmon+coffee best breakfast.

Poor cleanliness, poor hygiene, rude service. The awful trifecta. The woman put my food on the scale with no paper. Gross and disrespectful.This is my second time in the store and she's had a bad attitude both times. I gave the place a second chance because everyone is entitled to a bad day every once in a while. Well, they definitely won't be getting a third chance from me. I received the message loud and clear, I'm not welcomed in their rinky dink establishment. The richly melanated are obviously not welcomed here. Shame.

Great smoked fish. I recently purchased smoked pepper salmon and smoked mackerel.Both were delicious.In addition, they carry Mokka Bean coffee.I bought a bag of Peru Organic Cajamarca.Probably the best coffee I’ve ever had.5 star recommendation.

I freakin' love this place. Good fish, good sausage, good cheese pancakes!
