Had the Beef Bulgogi which was over cooked, not well marinaded and tough. Ordered a “classic cocktail” and was overcharged for premium liquor. Booth seats were old and squishy. Waiter was efficient and while he checked in with us a few times he clearly was covering more tables as they were short staffed. There are better dining options in our area than Shakou.

Great sushi, also been to the one in Libertyville and had a similar experience. Sashimi was fresh and the chefs choices are acceptable. Service was a little slow to my liking but I'm an impatient person by nature so might be fine for others.

I really liked Shakoa. Jasmine, our server, was such a lovely individual. The food was really good. I'll admit it was surprisingly slow coming out of the kitchen on a Sunday for dinner time, but it did not deter for the experience. The highlight for me was getting the o-toro sashimi and the blue fin tuna sashimi. It was really divine. I wish I would have taken more pictures but I was so swept up with eating I forgot!

I have never been to Shakou, but my friend recommended it to me, so, I tried it out.. (PARK RIDGE LOCATION). OUTSTANDING!! The manager, Nick, was so attentive and checked in with us, which we appreciated His recommendations were spot on for our my dining friends.. Golden Lobster, Salmon Maki....really anything! TOP NOTCH!

Ordered shrimp tempura udon, chicken teriyaki, edamame and fried calamari. Tempura udon was sweet which was surprising, and chicken teriyaki was just okay. Will try sushi next time. I love the atmosphere, great sound system, beautiful decorations and lighting.
