I usually dine in here with my family and friends. Good food always. This time around vegetable tempura was not cooked. Veggies were almost raw. I didnt say anything because it is usually good. We ordered sushi and pizza for the kids. We want to have check. Our waitress told us the tip is not included. She was trying to make sure I know this. I put my card and she brought the check back to me. She looked at the check and asked me why I tip this much. I should tip her higher. Around %20. She didnt even left me alone that I can add some more tip. I asked for a privacy but didn't want to give a penny more. I felt uncomfortable to say something. Restaurant was packed with people and they start looking. Also waitress told me that she should pay someone in the kitchen. I think she meant the person who made our food. So she asked a tip enough for 2 people. I have never faced something like this for so many years. Too disappointed. Probably not going back again.

Shakou Restaurants what a huge disappointment and horrible management!Visiting today was by far the worst experience of my life at a restaurant, and I used to work in the service industry as a server and manager. I’ve dined here before and the food was great. However, this time I ordered through grub hub to pick up an order. Somehow, a grub hub driver showed up and took my order. Instead of making my order again when I could show I had paid for it and that it was a pick-up order they said they couldn’t do anything about it except cancel the order and I pay for the order again. I never received a cancelation of my order, and the manager wouldn’t do anything about it. I’ve been in this situation before and this is when the house is flexible to meet what the customer asked and paid for verses saying their hands are tied. Not one employee apologized for the inconvenience. Hopefully they figure it out!If the manager replies to this review at all I will find it odd seeing they couldn’t find the time when I was there.

I love the food at Shakou. My favorite is vegetable tempura and sushi. I have eaten there often and everything tastes great with Japanese beer. The ambiance is awesome and the servers are friendly. It's expensive but worth it.

We waited 1:15 to get two rolls! Because management had zero skills as far as how to manage the orders coming in. This is from someone who owns a restaurant. You should take care of your guest I. House prior to taking outside orders!!

Love this place! The food is some of the best in Park Ridge. Our waitstaff is always present and always offering us to try new and exciting things. The space is a bit dark but I like it ! Very clean !
The food was great! Very creative ramen and generous sushi portions. Very creative. Drinks could use some work. Wish the music was a bit quieter.

Celebrated a birthday dinner early on a Saturday night here. The food is pretty good, our server was really amazing, but I’m not sure what this place thinks it is or what they are trying to do. It’s Park Ridge. The place was jam-packed with families on a Saturday night and the music was louder and more bass-driven than some bars. Why? It doesn’t fit the customer base at all. Club music is fine, but why set it at a level that’s not conducive to the group-appropriate setting of the restaurant?Also, it was like 30 degrees outside and the valet kid didn’t have any heating at all. There were at least 3 heating apparatus within 20 feet of the valet stand. Why not move one over for the poor valet kid and also the customers waiting for the cars?Maybe they can trade in one of the speakers in the restaurant to be able to afford keeping a staff member warm outside?Props to our server, she was a delight. Props to the food prep team and cooks, the food was tasty. Boo to ownership.

Excellent food and service and atmosphere. This is our go to for a great night out with either the family, friends, or an amazing date night. Drinks are top notch and staff is wonderful and welcoming. Britni was our waitress and she was fantastic with our picky kids and so much fun. Can’t wait to go back!Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly options.
Came here for my birthday and had an amazing dinner. From the ambience and comfy couch seating, to the delicious meal. It was a perfect evening. Armando gave great service and was attentive towards my special day!
