One of my favorite lunch spots! The blackened chicken bowl and salad are both amazing! Blueberry margarita was to die for!
Whiskey Taco is an awesome spot with great food, great drinks, and an even better atmosphere. It is a perfect place for a hangout or a casual date night, no matter your age. We saw a mix of younger groups and older couples, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The vibe is relaxed but lively, and it feels welcoming for anyone. They have games and slots if you want to hang out a little longer, and there is a jukebox playing music to keep the energy fun without being too loud. Parking is super easy with lots of spots available both in front and in back, which made getting in and out stress-free. If you are looking for a drink recommendation, the Mango Jalapeño Margarita is a must-try. It had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and refreshing — one of the best margaritas we have had in a long time. Highly recommend checking out Whiskey Taco if you are in the area. Great spot, great experience, and we will definitely be back.
We came today for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing, very clean, great workers, and on top of that the food was just phenomenal !!! We will be back
My friend and I like to try different local restaurants on our shopping day over the wkend. We stopped in to Pekin's Downtown Whiskey Taco on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, delicious food, and reasonable pricing for the dishes we devoured! A+ We'll be back!
Love the atmosphere!! Delishious food, we've never had anything we didn't enjoy and we've definitely tried almost the whole menu! Love taking our friends and family here for dinner.
Food and service was amazing! Our food came out to us in less than 10 minutes. Everything that we had was fantastic and flavorful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good Mexican place in Pekin!

The street corn with corn chips were the best ever. And the cheesecake filled puff pastry chimi's smothered with bourbon sauce were deliciously decadent!

This restaurant has it all- great food, great atmosphere, and best of all, great people and service.
A gem for Pekin to have; I just hope that the people in this town appreciate Whiskey Taco, and will support them, so we can have them around for a long time to come.
The name gives a good idea of things- WHISKEY TACO. They've got a bar (that serves much more than whiskey, if desired), and a very decent menu of, you guessed it- TACOS (among other Mexican delights). Personally, I'm a big fan of of the fish tacos.
The atmosphere is a mix of urban/industrial chic, with lots of great live plants and trees added in. Amazing natural light pours into the restaurant from massive, operable garage doors on the front, huge windows in the rear, and enormous skylights that cover nearly the entire ceiling! Despite the urban/industrial aspects, this space doesn't have the bad, echoey acoustics of others like it, so it's much easier to converse with your group, and talk to the staff. Thank goodness for that!
Family owned AND operated, I think I've seen every member of the Pekin family- the parents as well as their teenage kids- hustling and putting in time at this establishment. Talk about a family that works together! What great family values!
If you haven't been to Whiskey Taco in Pekin, please, go check it out. I promise you won't leave in tears! You may even leave with a satisfied appetite, and a smile on your face!

I ordered the lunch special that comes with chips and salsa. They were OK. But I prolly wouldn’t order them again. The tacos were good I got a whiskey bbq taco, a classic, and a smash burger I like the smash burger the best! I would prolly just order that one. Will i come back? Sure. The atmosphere is nice.

Great apps and a variety of fusion taco options. The portion sizes seem to have increased since I first visited a year ago. Their queso and chorizo dip is excellent, and the rest of our table really enjoyed the guacamole. The Dragon Nachos platter is huge, and can probably be split for two. I ordered three tacos, and they came with a generous pile of tortilla chips. The pork in the whiskey taco was cold, but I liked the fried onions on it. The Dragon Taco was pretty good, but it's just a chicken tender with Buffalo seasonings and Bleu cheese. The carne asada taco was easily my favorite, with plenty of tender beef. I'm not sure I'd make a special trip for it, but if I lived local I'd stop in again.

I ordered the grilled mahi mahi taco, steak taco, and tajin Shrimp taco with a watermelon jalapeño margarita. Immediately after eating dinner I got very sick with gastroenteritis. Something that was consumed tonight definitely wasn’t cooked properly or harbored bacteria. It ruined an otherwise good experience at the restaurant. The margarita was a tad too sweet, but tasty. The steak taco had very dry meat so don’t get that. I hope this was a one off, but any GI distress makes me question the preparation and contamination of food. I ate at 830 and they close at 9

It's a great atmosphere and a beautiful venue. The food was just so so. I'd give the food a 5 out of 10. I had mango salsa, a Mahi taco, a shrimp taco, and a shrimp bowl. The food want terrible but it also want good enough to come back or recommend to anyone.

Been really looking forward to trying this place came a couple weeks ago, but it was extremely disappointing, except for 1 thing. Ordered the margarita that was on special for $5, lime on the rocks, it was delicious and strong. Got the appetizer trio with chips, salsa, guacamole and queso. Salsa and chips were fine. Cheese was super thick and not runny at all. Guacamole was disgusting, came out with a dark brown tint to it, tasted spoiled almost like it was left in the fridge for days. I ordered 2 carne asada (steak) tacos. Do not expect authentic style steak tacos. I don’t know what kind of cut of meat they are using , but I would not call them steak tacos. The steak is like mushy pot roast, but looks like canned cat food. Everyone I was with had something on there plates that looked spoiled. The waitress also split the appetizer up on each persons bill without asking. We all felt like crap the rest of the night after eating here. Only way I’d step foot back in here is if I’m only wanting to drink. Maybe we came on a bad night I don’t know. I’d rather stick to eating at my favorite Mexican joints that’s are way cheaper and always taste fresh.
Decided to try the place during the car show. Small tacos with about a tablespoon of greasy meat. Lots of tomatoes, although I ordered without. Also ordered the chips and salsa, which are not complimentary like other places. I had maybe a large handful of chips and some salsa. Most of the chips were burned and tasted horrible. Not a very good value for the money. 3.50 per taco and 7.00 for the chips and salsa. I should have gone to Taco Bell instead.
