I went in a little late in the day. What I got there was unbelievable good. Now I see why everyone likes it.
We got married this past Saturday and had the pleasure of Trefzgers making our wedding cake. The process was amazing, we got to try all of the flavors and basically designed the cake ourselves. The customer service is excellent and very professional. Not to mention the cake was a hit. We got compliments all night asking us where the cake was from. They also offered to deliver the cake, day of. This took a lot of stress off of us during the busy morning. They also left us the sweetest card on the day of our wedding. Overall, would recommend this bakery to anyone getting married soon!!! We are VERY satisfied with the entire process and the delicious cake.
I bought a rasberry chiffon cake today expecting it to be just like the last one I bought a few years ago but this cake was nothing like it used to be. The cake was dry and brown instead of pink and fluffy like last time…. So disappointed and feel ripped off- never buying cake from them again. The change in this bakery over the past 10 years is sad. I had my wedding cake done by them 36 years ago but would never have them do it now. What happened?
The best I've had be nice if they had some other locations cuz I don't live in Peoria anymore the best thing though is that I have family that do and I'm only 3 hours away so whenever they're visiting like this past 4th of July for example they bring a huge cake🤗
Enjoyed seeing the Bison too!
First time visiting this bakery. It was ok. Maybe it was the time of day when we arrived. The shelves with products was picked over and not a lot to choose from. The eclair and cream puff we ate were very good but the frosting on the eclair was very sweet!
I had my gender reveal cupcakes made from them.. Ordered a dozen, half of them didn't have filling and then the ones that did we had to guess if they were blue or white. I felt like they were rushed and I was disappointed.
We stopped in around 2:00 on a Tuesday. The girl at the counter said they had been wiped out of a lot of desserts.
We tried a sugar cookie that was good and a few types of cupcakes. The German chocolate cupcake was a bit dense and dry, but the topping was good. The double chocolate cupcake was better. It was moist. The coconut and rasberry cupcakes were OK. They were a bit dense.
They had some prepackaged brownies, macaroons, slices of pie, candy, etc. that you could purchase. Plus, whole cakes, too. They had a few places to sit inside.
Don't forget to take a number when you walk in. I would definitely come back much earlier in the day to see what else they offer.

I know going late on a Saturday to a bakery would be hit or miss with options. But they were nearly empty. All they were doing was taking future orders. Not what I expected. I guess I can't go back to the time where just about every neighborhood had a local bakery. All the old traditional local bakeries have been pushed out by the Walmarts and Targets of the world.
Trefzgers is legendary in Peoria the classic thumb prints always delight

Renee was an absolute pro--a delight. I bought a cake for my company during the busy holiday season, and she nailed every request with speed and accuracy. I'd buy another cake for the sheer joy of working with her again.
Also, the baked goods are spectacular.

Last week I was the recipient of a German Chocolate cake. Sadly for $60.00 it was dry and inedible. I called to express our disappointment and the person who came to the phone after I asked for the manager said we didn't allow the cake to thaw long enough. I know the difference between frozen and dry. The cake had several hours to thaw before the time it was cut and presented after dinner. We were finally offered a gift certificate upon returning the remaining cake, but the person who bought it wasn't thrilled with the idea of getting more disappointing items, so it was discarded and we will never patronize them again. They have definitely gone downhill and it doesn't take long to see there are several complaints similar to mine. You're better off going to Costco or Sam's Club for a decent cake and it would be cheaper too!
