Hard to maintain an independent business nowadays . Mom & pop's business are all but gone.But a few survive. I try to seek these places out. 165 yrs in business is amazing .so great place excellent bakery .

When we return for a visit, Trefzger's Bakery is a must. The chocolate coffee cake has been a birthday cake for me in years past. It is the BEST. The service hustles when its busy. I love going into the wide open space of this store. I can remember having to wait outside and around the building at the old location. This place is a Peoria area pillar. Every now and again, someone who loves me brings me a chocolate coffee cake or thumbprints or sugar cookies to Florida. Thank you! Words cannot express the mouthful of joy Trefzger's brings.

Solid building and solid, happy people. Pecan Shortbread Cookies are delicious and everything else looks that way too! Definitely worth stopping in. Treat yo self!

Pecan pie deserves way more pie filling--there is none in the middle. I don't mind paying more for a quality product, but come on peeps.
