Hands down the BEST gyro in Central Illinois. Very lucky to have this gem of a restaurant. Service is great and their other dishes are phenomenal. Try their baba ganoush!
This establishment is GREAT!!! I was warmly greeted bye Chef Moussa as I walked thru the door. This was quick but meaningful conversation before placing my order. I ordered the chicken and gyro shawarma dinner. This was most tender well seasoned gyro meat I've had. The marinated chicken kept me wanting more. The pita was freshly made for my order and can be eaten by itself. Homemade tzatziki and garlic sauce melts in your mouth. The ambiance and decor was relaxing with earth toned textures. This was my first time, but will not be my last!!!!!

The absolute best Gyro I've ever had! I've had gyros from all over: Nashville, Chicago, St Louis, etc. Chef Moussa takes the top spot among all! The service, food, atmosphere, are all on point! My new top spot for sure!

I had chicken shawarma, hummus and salad. Very flavorful meat and salad, though a side, was big. My husband had the mixed meat shawarma with salad and rice. They served big pita breads with the meal also. I thought my chicken was dry as well as my husband's but didn't know if that's the way it was supposed to be? When dunked in white mayo type sauce it tasted better. Wish ai knew if the rice was saffron rice as it was very delicious and a gold color. I think I could have been full with just the hummus and pita bread! Portions were big and I needed a big box to take my leftovers home. If I came again I'd try the falafels.Vegetarian options: Hummus, pita bread, veggies, falafels, etc.Kid-friendliness: Two ladies and a toddler we're eating when we arrived. There's a child menu and highchair.

I had a gyro and, as someone who loves gyros, I can attest that this was the best gyro I’ve ever had. One gyro was actually FOUR meals for me! I bought extra homemade pitas (they’re INCREDIBLE) and I just finished everything - FOUR MEALS WORTH! The owner was super nice, everything was clean, and the food is GREAT! We’re from Cedar Rapids, Iowa but we’ve already talked about driving back down to Peoria just to eat this delicious food! One of my photos is what it looked like when I got my gyro, the second photo is after I had already eaten two fun meals - I still had that much left!My husband LOVES chicken shawarma and he said his meal was delicious too!
The food at Chef Moussa is different than other similar restaurants in town, and in a good way. My go to is the chicken shawarma sandwich, which has a fantastic seasoning blend. The bread is far better than other places where you get a standard, mass produced pita bread, which isn't fitting for a shawarma sandwich. It's also a massive serving size. This is mostly a carry out joint but with a comfortable, crisp, and clean fast food dine-in atmosphere if you wish to eat it there. The staff are always very friendly and the prices are on point.Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly
