“The wife and I stopped here for Sunday Date Day for the first time. Great experience and great food! I eat a 90% meat diet and they were more than happy to switch it up, add another meat option (for upcharge of course) and keep the pita/rice and hummus. :)
The food was great!.. I got the 3 Shish combination plate (1 of each) and it was very flavorful and cooked well. Nice crisp on the lamb shish and the other meats were spiced different enough to tell them apart. The seasoning on the chicken reminded me of growing up and having souvlaki at Festival in Grand Rapids, MI.
Wife had the lamb shank special and really enjoyed it. I tried a bite of the shank and it was amazing. VERY tender...a perfectly braised shank!
Sauces were good. Green had a little heat and was very jalapeno forward, the red had more of a Buffalo Wing vibe (maybe a mix of harissa?) and the tzatziki was very fresh... looser than I am used to but it was nice. :) Although I didn't have the pitas like the wife did, they are Illinois made in Skokie at Libanais, always a plus.
Being 2 miles from home, we are sure to swing in again. Heck, it might be a common change from our normal Jimmy Johns lunch. :)“
