I hadn't eaten at a Long John Silver in many years, but I had an appointment in Peoria and thought I would give it a try again. There were no other customers in the restaurant when I arrived around 3pm. I ordered a two piece fish meal, then went to sit down to wait for my number to be called. In maybe 3 minutes, a young woman who took my order brought a tray out to me. There were 3 pieces of what I thought was fish rather than two, but I thought, what the heck, my dogs could have the rest if I didn't finish it. I took two bites before thinking, what kind of fish is this? The texture was all wrong. Then I realized they had given me chicken rather than fish. The texture wasn't great for chicken, either. I didn't even bother to go back to the counter, just chalked it up to hoping a poor performing fast food restaurant was better than I remembered. The cole slaw was good. My dogs were happy with the leftovers.

Don't look up behind the counter. The sealing is falling down and there is dirt and dust caked up all over everything including where they keep the food. The air vents are full of dirt. This place is so nasty and dirty. I will never eat here again.

So. Many people give LJS a bad name, true I have had a bad experience over time here or there, but overall I love it I grew up with my grandparents feeding me LJS and come on yall its just so dog gone good when they do it right°°°•

I can't tell you about the food or any of the experience because when I pulled up at 9:45 I was told that they're closing early tonight and I could come back at 10:00 a.m. when I looked at the hours of operation they were supposed to be open till 10:00
Was under staffed so its not fair to comment on service.

The parking lot sucked, the wait at the window was long enough I almost drove away, and the food was alright. Nothing particularly bad I guess, but not ideal service. I came from Bloomington and we no longer have one so I was excited originally and after i left, I felt indifferent.
