Very disappointed in the food. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and cheeseburger. Neither had any flavor and the quality was extremely poor. Portions were also small for the $30 spent for two baskets. A great value burger Patty would taste better than what we received here. The service was good at least and liked the outdoor dining experience that reminds me of my childhood. Would not recommend getting food from here though.

This is directed at the owners only. You ruined your popcorn reputation. Not by charging 70¢ for extra butter. But by, when someone asked for layered butter there now required to put it in a small size ranch style container. If I wanted to dip my popcorn I would make my own. The worst part is your employees are on the front end of most complaints on this. Shame on you, You lost my business for being cheap and petty. 70¢ or even a $1 would cover layered buttered popcorn. You lost my business and I'm sure many others who wouldn't take the time to voice there opinion on this.

Iconic if you are from Peoria. It's not so much Lou's does anything revolutionary with their food... the food is good because it's from Lou's. Root Beer is phenomenal. Everyone in Peoria loves Lou's.

It was disgusting out there... The root beer had a weird aftertaste and the chilli dogs were just bleh... The milk shakes were good but were too thick to get through the straw. Employees were chill and friendly though. Just couldn't eat without being swarmed by flies.

Def a place that banks on the nostalgia of times gone past. However, the food could be compared to that of a school/hospital caffateria at best. The burgers taste like they just came out of the freezer. No way its fresh beef. The burger even being freshly reheated lacked any real flavor. Fries were good and fresh. Shake was decent but the straw they give you have to wait for it to melt to pull anything thru. Outside it paints a pretty picture.... esp when filled w people. I'd keep drivi g if i were you. 17 bucks and change for a dbl cheeseburger, frie and small shake. Horrible!

I remember this place as a kid in the 70’s. When they had great food and curb service. I wasn’t expecting it to be the same. $33 for two cheeseburger baskets is insane. They even charged me for water for my dog. The Rootbeer is from a fountain even though they boast that it is homemade. They remake some of their shakes and stick them in a cooler. Better value and quality can be found at Steak n Shake or Dairy Queen for a fraction of the price. Nostalgia was the only reason I stopped there. Everything has changed.

I took my 10 year old son there and he really enjoyed it. Especially the root beer, it would be cool if we could buy their mugs though.

Outdoor dining only but popular nostalgia and busy lunch crowd.

Parking: Try to get here before noon and be careful of heavy traffic on Knoxville Avenue.

64 years ago the '2 dog special'
was a favorite, along with the tenderloin sandwich. Still have good memories of this favorite drive-in.
