The prices went up sky high the portions are way smaller used to be great it's changed hands alot of times don't think I'll b back to much grisil when u order steak meat u spit it out ? guess I'm have to mess with Champaign for Mexican food sorry um just being
I am from San Diego I know mexican quisine. this is probably the best place for mexican food and the nearest to authentic mexican food. they are missing the hand made tortillas and some Jamaica, horchata or tamarindo fresh water. they do have some authentic sodas which was great. the carne asada was well seasoned. the tortillas were soft and good. the al pastor meat was waaaaaaay over seasoned... too much pineaple and too much cinnamon. if they eased up on the pineaple and the cinnamon that al pastor would be great! the birria tacos "cripy" were great! meat was very soft and not chewy which means that they properly stewed it! the flavor was there and properly seasoned it was missing the clove flavor but was very good. their table salsa was very good and the right spicy. the totopos or chips are made there not store bought so defiinately good! i was told that we were not i the best of neighborhoods but I honestly felt safe. the only reason it got low stars on atmosphere is because some guys came in looked around and walked out. was somewhat weird but they left.

So yes this place was good I ordered three taco steak and the pork with salsa Verde rice n beans and meat was tender great flavor a tad salty but it was good I was satisfied tortillas on the side to sop up those juices lol and the steak tacos was great to very well seasoned meaty and it was hot still bout time I got home it was still hot that's a plus for me!
Such good food. Been for brunch multiple times and dinner just as many. But matter the time it's always been incredible food and great drinks.

On previous visits, there were almost always issues. With the food, the order, and mostly just a lack of the ability of the staff to effectively communicate in English. I tried my hardest to do most of my order in Spanish, but i dont know that much really. ? food:4, service:1, atmosphere:2? There were new people there this last visit. Women in the kitchen and an older woman (abuela) cleaning tables as people left. Felt more inviting when we walked in. There weren't any communication difficulties and our specially ordered burrito was correct and YUMMY!Thanks for this new experience! I will try again for sure!
