This is a clean dim lit relaxing place for lunch. Miso soup was hot and had nice texture from the tofu. Service was good, waiter was attentive and read back our order to us.

Sushigawa is a Peoria gem. Things are taken extremely seriously here, and you will enjoy thoughtful, courteous, perfectly-timed service - as well as beautiful preparation, delicious food, great drinks, and a wonderful decor. Sushigawa checks all of the main boxes while EXCELLING at attention to finer details: a pristine, spotless bathroom, relaxing music, perfect lighting, plush napkins, and a commitment to service that makes Sushigawa a luxury experience. I sincerely hope this joint never changes.

When we walked in we were in awe of the scenery of the place. The atmosphere had a very welcoming source and the music was the cookie on top. I had ordered a Philadelphia roll and a side order of sushi rice and miso soup. I had just got my braces done and everything was soft and perfectly cooked definitely a place to check out on a date or if you just want a quick bite to eat. The service was quick for the amount of people working and it was perfect timing on browsing the menu and everything. Be warned this place serves you with chopsticks at first I did not ask for forks because I did not need to but I’m sure they provide forks if you are a non-chop stick user. The wasabi and ginger tasted fresh and authentic, and the booth seats come with comfort with a seating pad that really adds to the atmosphere.

The service was excellent. I love the mood that was casted. And the food did taste decent. The main problem was 2 things, it came out really fast, and after finishing the meal, my fiance felt sick. She went to the bathroom first, but then we just left after paying to quickly take care of things. Though I felt mildly ill too, it didn't affect me as bad as her. I love what I received from this place, I have nothing bad to really say about anyone, but I'll probably not be returning back.

Went to this restaurant, ordered, told the waitress I had a Shrimp allergy. We ordered Gyoza, which has no description of ingredients, waitress informs me after I ask her again if there’s shrimp in the gyoza and she says no there’s pork, then tells me after that there is indeed shrimp. This is extremely unprofessional and dangerous behavior. The waitress then denied knowing I had an allergy to shrimp even though we told her before we ordered. I have had sushi at hundreds of restaurants and the first thing servers usually ask at these places is if there are any allergies, especially since they serve a lot of shellfish. Never going back, not recommended.

This place used to be so good. This was my first time under the new management and was such a disappointment. Never have I listened to Usher club music in a sushi restaurant before. Waiter struggled to understand English. Soup tastes horrible like bad fish. And they should NOT have hibachi on the menu. Worst I have ever had. Ordered filet mignon cooked medium. Received dry over cooked steak, bland rice and very few veggies. All served separately. Also, shrimp was added without being ordered which could pose a huge risk to someone with food allergies. Will not return. Miss the old management. Too bad 😔
