Fire on Fifth

Lizzy was such an amazing bartender/ server! What an awesome time my first time eating here, the food was so good 😊

So I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt three times. Each time was just kind of meh at best, but tonight was insanely unenjoyable. We ordered our pizzas and informed them that my girlfriend has major food issues (wheat allergy). We told them to be careful when prepping but they ended up bringing her regular crust instead of the cauliflower crust which started stomach issues after just a bite of it. The waitress was super friendly about the situation and had another one made up. Then after the meal was done and we went to pay for my girlfriends glass of cider at the bar, it took over 40 MINUTES of standing at the bar for one of only three understaffed bartenders to finally get around to us to pay for the tab. I get that it is sometimes very busy and the staff as a whole is very friendly but there seriously needs to be someone to step in and tighten up the way the place operates.

Our friends brought us to Fire on Fifth today. It was our first time here (visiting from East Proria). It was located right on the main road. There is an elevator to the left of the stairs once you walk in, so if you need to use that, it's available. We were seated right away and started off with the Wisconsin cheese curds as an appetizer. They were great, cubed, and crisp! Then we ordered a chicken bacon ranch to share. It was good but could have used a bit more ranch, I didn't really taste that much on there. It's a 12-inch pizza and it was enough to feed the both of us.
Loved the decor around the building and the history that was there! It was so cool to see the "old pictures" of what it used to be, from the bricks on the wall and the distillery! I love how there were notes placed around the building that explained or described a little piece of history. For example, the cheese curds were served in a paper boat on a piece of tissue paper that looks like a newspaper clipping from 1971. That was awesome!
I'm not a drinker, but the beer wall was so cool! I've never seen anything like that before. How many options they had was just insane and the fact that it's self- serve and you just pay by the ounce. Very cool feature!
We will be returning!

Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a short elevator to the left of the stairs when you first walk in the door making it handicap accessible.

First timer, and they did not disappoint! Started with Grandma's Meatballs, absolutely what I needed in this cold weather. The Chicken Parm with side salad and house dressing was the main course. Everything about this dish was perfect! The bread was not hard, not too much vodka sauce, chicken was tender.
To finish, the Chai Martini and Grinchmas were a sweet holiday treat. Our server was great, too. Very friendly!

Service was absolutely horrible. We waited over 15 minutes and no one would even acknowledge we were there waiting. We finally had to ask the cooks to get someone. 10 minutes later, we sat, to then not be waited on again so we walked out. I work in the industry and no matter how busy you are, there’s no reason a waitress couldn’t have stopped to greet us and to give us an estimate of time.

They have a literal beer wall which is awesome but they need to me open for their customers. If you want to make a party reservation it’s facebook only. Not everyone uses facebook. And to be honest they are a bit rude to you if you try and talk to them about it. We tried to make a reservation for my birthday and they never got back to us then when we showed up the acted like it was our fault, and they wouldn’t seat us. I mean the food is good and the beer wall is awesome but the way they treated me was not okay.

Pizza was a joke! More toppings on a orv's from the grocery store for 3 bucks! And it was cold and like doe in the center. Very disappointed. Never returning.

Worst bar service ever 45 minutes for beer while they service all there friends would not recommend this this place to my worst enemy

Horrible service. Do not serve anyone only but their friends. Hosted a fight night and they treat their sponsors like absolute garbage

We stopped for an early dinner and sat at the bar. Angela was so super nice and awesome and got us drinks right away. The beer wall was wonderful. Got to try so many different beers. Angela recommended the Big Ben pizza and it was amazing. Crispy and a little spicy from the giardenera but just right. We also had the SPG wings and they were super tasty. We had a wonderful experience and definitely will be back when we visit Lasalle next year. Thank you Angela.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. So nice to find gluten free items on the menu! The Spinach & Artichoke spread was delicious and the Mediterranean Pizza on gluten free crust was outstanding. Our server, Avian, was so nice and friendly, absolutely delightful! He really added to our wonderful experience at Fire on Fifth after touring the Westclox Museum. Looking forward to going back on my next visit to the Illinois Valley.
