W.O.W. I saw this place, with its super high reviews and so many of them, and decided to try it for myself. It stands alone, super service, food, atmosphere, and vibe. Go here. Try it. You'll be glad you did.

The NY Strip had too much gristle in it. It was a little too cold in there. I kept my jacket on.

The artichoke spinach pasta was really excellent. My New York strip had great seasoning and the side potatoes were unique. However, the steak was order medium rare but arrived medium well and well done in some areas. I still enjoyed my meal and the meat was surprisingly tender for being over cooked. I would definitely come back.

Thyme is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and my go-to place to take friends + family when they visit. They have an excellent range of dishes and each one has something that really makes it stand out. I’ve tried a lot of their menu and haven’t had a mediocre dish yet. I think it’s better than many restaurants in Chicago and it’s so exciting to have cuisine like this out here.

This was my third time visiting Thyme. This time I took my two adult sons, daughter in law and granddaughter. We got there just as they were opening and our server was great. By the time we finished brunch, every table was taken and there was still just the one server. She was pleasant, but come on, Thyme, get staffing right! I imagine everyone waited super long to get food.My daughter in law in Norwegian, and she said she loved the concept of the place, which to me is like saying about a blind date, "she has a great personality" .I had the kimchi falafel...four very spicy falafel about one and a half the size of a golf ball, sitting in a pool of tahini. They were somewhat flavorful, but WAAAY to dry. I ate one and passed to my son and DIL. They both concurred that they were too dry. I was surprised that for $12 a side salad or something was not included.Everyone else was moderately happy with their meals, but at the end of the meal the check came to $78. It was not worth the price, in my opinion (BTW, of the five of us, three had only water, if we had coffee, we would have approached $90).Sorry, Thyme, I won't be back.Vegetarian options: Son is a vegetarian, he appreciated the selection.

As a Bloomington native, I was invited to a business lunch here & had no idea what to expect. I was very pleased with this place. The food was delicious! Potatoes was awesome. Hamburger was great (would prefer a little more seasoning). You could tell it was fresh & the portions were a very good size.

I was pretty disappointed. We got the crab cake, the house gnocchi with braised chicken, and a burger with the potato things. The crab cake had good flavor, but that was actually the first one I have ever had. However, I can definitely say the flavor was enjoyable. But I couldn't say if it was real or imitation crab because I'm just not familiar. The house gnocchi it self was not horrible. But the rest was. The braised chicken was over cooked, somehow the peas were burned, which made the pan sauce dark and bitter. The pan sauce also lacked fat and acidity, and was wayyyy to watery. No herb flavor at all. It was edible though. The burger... oh man. Fresh meat? It was sour... and some of the potato things were burnt. I was very polite to the server about it as it was not her fault, but I was mad. I had to spit out the burger. I'm no professional chef but I hold my home cooking to high standards, similar to a professional. I have a defined palate when it comes to local produce and I understand technique and flavor combos. For these prices and the size of the menu I 100% except everything to be perfect every single dish. I will unfortunately not be trying this place again... I feel so let down as this is one of the only in this area that serves food like them. They did give us a free desert because of the burger but I never mentioned anything about the gnocchi. The desert appears to be plain yogurt, grapes, flavorless oranges, and pistachios. I mean come on.. Could that get anymore boring? No lemon, no mint, no flavorful fruits. Just bad. I threw it away. I have pictures of the burnt potato and burnt peas but there's no place to upload them. But it was very visible and their QC person should have said no, that's not acceptable.
