The food was mostly great and the service was friendly and funny. The meatballs were dry (overcooked), but everything else we ordered was perfect.

Absolutely love this place!

Ordered carry out veal and eggplant. Was really looking forward to a nice meal for me and my daughter. The eggplant tasted like mold. The veal was super thin, like thickness of a credit card, over cooked and wayyy too much lemon. Plus bit on 3 lemon seeds , supposed to be pine nuts and a good chef would not allow seeds to be left in. Have ordered this meal several times. It went in the garbage. Wasted 65 bucks. Very sad cause they used to be awesome.

Fabulous Italian food. Large portions. Lots of alternatives. All tasty. Hard to decide which one to order.

Great experience here celebrating my brother’s birthday- had the orange roughy and it was good. Everyone in my party enjoyed this place.

La Dolce has changed since the ownership change. My wife and I visited on March 28th. Our server was very good, but the service was a bit spotty, likely due to a wine pairing party they were hosting. I received my starting cocktail promptly, but my wife's wine took a long time to arrive. I ordered the special gnocchi with vodka sauce, and my wife ordered the orecchiette escarole. The gnocchi was good, but the flavor of the sauce wasn't as vibrant as it used to be. The portion was generous, so I had leftovers for the next day. The orecchiette escarole, however, was not good, and we informed our server. She told us the dish contained Swiss chard. Escarole is a type of endive, known for its sweet and slightly bitter taste. This dish had a strong bitter flavor. Again, the portion was very generous, and we took it home for another meal, but ultimately threw it out after reconsidering. We had a second cocktail at the bar after dinner and noticed the drinks were larger and better than those served at the table. Also, a couple at the bar ordered dinner. Ironically, one ordered the gnocchi special, and the other ordered the Lake Superior fresh white fish. That fish dish was sent back to the kitchen and never returned. It's very convenient for us to go there, but Capri downtown Plainfield offers better meals, menus, and drinks. It's disappointing because I used to frequent La Dolce weekly.
Additionally, I was told the table olive oil was stored near the front door during off-hours. It tasted good, but the cloudy olive oil with a significant precipitate at the bottom of the bottle was unappetizing.
I'm hoping it was just an unfortunate night. I plan to return for a cocktail and share a dinner with my wife at the bar.
I was surprised that by 7:15 PM, there were many empty tables, and the usually cozy bar was quite open.

This place has amazing food and exceptional service, we had the main room for my grandparents anniversary and couldn't have been happier! Would definitely recommend!

Very good authentic food. Very good portions. Service was mediocre, biggest complaint was drinks were left empty for a while. Other then that, highly recommended. Also they request no split checks.

We had the best service here at La Dolce Vita per tutti! From the lovely, fun server Marcia ( she really was a delight !) to the busboys and the food, everything was excellent. Huge portions, great house dressing on the salad and delicious cannoli. We had chicken vesuvio, chicken parm, shrimp linguini and chicken marsala. We would definitely come here again. Looking into having a rehearsal dinner here as well. I would give more stars if i could.

By far the best restaurant in Plainfield! We have tried everything on the menu and have yet to have something I didn’t enjoy. They hosted our son’s wedding shower and it was spectacular! Our guests still talk about how wonderful it was. The staff is amazing and treats you like family every time we come.

Made a reservation in advance, the staff was the best service I'd had compared to other restaurants. My boyfriend took me here for valentines day, food was delicious. The noise level was perfect for date night, we were able to enjoy conversation. I highly recommend.

I made a special request to the team at La Dolce Vita, and they responded excellently. Mallory was remarkably helpful over the phone, even though the restaurant was quite busy. I highly recommend this place.
