We were really looking forward to visiting this winery with our family, we had a group that came by bus, excited to enjoy a day traveling to wineries together. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we were met with an unwelcoming attitude. The staff, particularly the woman behind the bar, was incredibly rude and unaccommodating.

Rather than treating us like valued guests, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. Her tone was sharp, her demeanor was cold, and she seemed irritated by our presence from the start. We understand that large groups (13 people) can be a lot to handle, but the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was disappointing.

We’ve visited many wineries as a family and have always had warm, welcoming experiences. Sadly, that was not the case here. I would not recommend this winery if you’re coming with a group or expecting friendly hospitality.

I really love Pomona Winery. It's so simple and rustic. I love that it has cabin vibes with the porch and being surrounded by trees. I also love that their wines aren't made of grapes, but of apples and other fruit. It makes them stand out. And their apple wines taste so good. I think the option of being able to bring picnic food of your own is also great. Lastly, their staff are really sweet and hospitable.

Went to the winery and just joked around about asking where the local ingredients came from. They tried to give me water and then cut me off for no reason after I refused. They told me that they share the same roads but I wasn’t the driver. I had only been to one other winery and shared a bottle with my wife in only an hour. I won’t be back.

Peaceful & quiet out of the way winery. All fruit wine. Mostly sweet.

Popped by after a hike. This place is a magical gem with delicious fruit wines suited for a spectrum of palates. Meghann is a fantastic down-to-earth host with sommelier level knowledge. So glad I stopped in.

Visited this place and loved the vibe and experience and the uniqueness of the grape less wines available here. Everyone was super nice and if you’re going through the area you should definitely visit.

This winery makes their wine with fruit other than grapes. Some of them taste like grapes anyway! Unique wines and flavors. Loved their strawberry dessert wine!

We really enjoyed our time here. The owner was so inviting and knowledgable regarding food pairings during our tasting. Great prices for both tasting and bottles we took home. Definitely worth a visit while in Southern Illinois!

We had a great time today. The tasting was worth the $5. The gentleman who did ours let us know about each wine, and offered not only food pairings but also suggestions on how to use a few in recipes. We went home with a few bottles and each had a glass of wine on one of the decks that wrap the building. We really enjoyed relaxing while being nearly in the treetops.**If you come from the north, the turn into the drive is a very sharp turn that comes up on you very quickly.

We had the best wine tasting of all of the vineyards we went to. George told us about each wine and the foods they would go best with. We bought a case for future enjoyment! Gorgeous deck outside.

You kind of have to accept what your getting into here. The wine is fruit wine, and it's actually better than most all grape wines on the trail for what it is, so don't let that keep you away. The apple wines are delicious. The blueberry wine is delicious. The Kir is delicious. We first visited soon after their opening when the tasting room was in the basement with a few stools and a very old refrigerator. We still come by occasionally after over 23 years. George never remembers us or he's off hiking, but that's okay because his staff is always super friendly, he's still super excited about his wine, and they still taste great.
