These guys are amazing!! So we first came in because we wanted to watch RSL soccer and asked if they had access to Apple TV. When they didn’t they said we could log in when we asked. We watched our game and also asked for some tequila drinks of which they ended up giving us some free drinks Thai place is quite amazing!

Coal Creek is a great little brewery in downtown Princeton. Its located in a historic building with high pressed tin ceilings, lots of wood, and a cool live edge bar top. Its not a huge place but they have tables, you can sit at the large bar, or gamble in the back.

Coal Creek had 10 of their beers on tap for my stop including an American lager, a winter porter, Irish ale, Scandinavian kveik, blueberry wheat, nut brown, amber lager, kolsch, hazy IPA, and a sour. I really enjoyed everything I thought most beers were above average. They do make cocktails for non beer people. I thought the service was great, nice music, and they have sports on.

They had been around about three years on my stop and I hope to see them around d for long time.

Beers were mediocre. Just be careful of the regulars that come in. They will start a fight with you and say things personal to attack you. The bar tender was good especially when the other patron was taking things too far.
Update: you’ll want to keep your receipt to make sure that they charged you correctly. I tipped a generous 20% and they added more to it.

🤗 Absolutely….. 🤗 a lovely & wonderful bartender, a perfect fit to the definition of what a great brewery should be made of!

Great atmosphere and friendly service! Enjoyed this small town microbrewery just off the main highway. Good beers and a few outdoor seats available too!

Posted on Chicago Area microbreweries - Facebook page: Not quite Chicago area, but Princeton, Illinois . . . I was pleased to find Coal Creek Brewery had opened in the "2nd downtown" since I was last here. Located in a narrow, but long space - like a shotgun house - it was a nicely laid out place to have a beer. With 12 beers on tap, this small brewing operation had a varied selection of beers instead of 6 out of 12 being only IPAs! I tried the Kolsch and Milk stout because [instead of] . . . my usual preference of having a flight when checking out a new brewery . . . I spoke with the bartender/part owner and learned they learned their craft working in Florida before returning to her . . . husband's hometown. Coal Creek has only been open for two years now, but it is well worth a stop. Check it out.

Tasty beers. A great lager and a pilsner are great introductions for the American beer drinker. A few IPA's, a milk stout and a dunkel (my favorite) for the craft beer fan. Mixed drinks also. Great service, good atmosphere and stools with back support! We love this place!

Such a cool place to stop in for a drink. The bartender Eliza was super friendly and energetic. My drink was perfectly balanced and at a reasonable price. The beer Eliza suggested was amazing. Will definitely be returning to try a bloody mary.
