We went on Friday and the big tacos were delicious and not to mention the green sauce according to the carnitas tacos! We went on a trip to Chicago from Kansas and I will definitely

If I could give negative stars I would. Rude staff and owner Luis. No complementary chips and salsa. When ask for chips while I waited for food they brought me 10 chips in a small container. After waiting I go to check out and they have got my order wrong on top of charging me $5 for 10 chips. Literally 10 chips.I will never order from this sorry excuse of a restaurant again. Way to lose 3 long time customers over $5 chips.

The reason for three stars is solemnly on the quality of the food, which is AMAZING. The waitress was RIDICULOUSLY uneducated and had no idea how to do her job. We ordered the most amazing meat by the pounds however, the waitress was unable to explain to us that it was an additional $7 per pound of meat if we ate within the establishment. I was shocked to see an $80 bill for 1.5 lbs of meat.I would go back only for take out, service is a -1! In addition to this, the waiter started screaming at us and at the owner saying that there are cameras and that we could rewind them and see that she told us. We all had an absolutely delicious meal, but a terrible experience with the waiting staff.

Very tasty and abundant portions. Tried the carnitas, al pastor and cecina tacos. Carnitas looked delectable but were probably the least flavorful of the trio. The cecina was well seasoned and served with a smear of beans and caramelized onions. The al pastor was something else. Can something have too much flavor? Wow! The meat was smoky, slightly charred and served with nice chunks of equally charred pineapple. So good! Probably the most different and best I've had in the area. Beans were a bit salty. Overall the food was great and I can't wait to come back and try some of the other varied offerings.

El Pasisa Alegre #2 is a hidden gem on the far northwest side that offers an authentic Mexican taqueria experience. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a whole new world of flavors and aromas that you won't forget anytime soon. From the beautifully presented three-taco dinner with Cecina, El pastor, and barbacoa, to the fresh vegetables, cooked meats, and steaming tortillas, every detail of the experience is thoughtfully crafted to delight your senses and satisfy your hunger. As someone who's no stranger to the culture and regional gastronomy of Mexico, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food. The barbacoa was a standout, evoking memories of small establishments I frequented deep in the city back in the 1990s. The El-Pastor was equally delicious, with just the right amount of seasoning and pineapple on the spit. Cecina, usually a bit tough, was cooked to perfection – tender and flavorful, like warm jerky. The rice and beans were also noteworthy, with each bite bursting with flavor and texture. And if you're a fan of chorizo and Tripitas tacos, like my wife, then you'll be pleased to know that they're just as delicious here as they are in Mexico.Overall, El Pasisa Alegre #2 is a must-try for anyone looking to experience the true flavors of Mexico. With its authentic atmosphere, thoughtful presentation, and delicious food, it's no wonder why it's a hidden gem that I can't stop raving about!Kid-friendliness: Lots of colors in the decor and real life butcher preforming the magic of a meat market.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level with no big thresholds to cross

We(3 of us ordered 7 diffrent types of tacos and all were great except the AlPastor. They was burnt and dry, the tacos were stuffed more than any other place I've been to. You could make 3 tacos from each one. The Carnitas were a bit cold but great flavor. The salsas were stupid hot(spicy) but good flavor. The place was cold and not a place to stay and hang all night, the service was just ok. Overall I would go back but just for a quick taco or to pick up carnitas to go.

I literally had the weirdest experience ever in this place. Felt like I was in the twilight zone!! Sat down with my family of 5 and was asked "drink?". 3 Jaritos and a coke... not rocket science right??? Total look of confusion.. did not speak English or Spanish. then we order food.. 3 steak taco dinners... easy... NOPE?? I then order a burrito... NOPE no burrito tortillas.. got up and left. Will never go back or recommend.

Worst service ever. Did not let us know that they charge to eat there. They overcharged us for a pound of Carnitas. When I went in to go ask, the guy looked at me and said uhh ohhh ! which means this is not the first time this has happened. Do not recommend whatsoever. If I can give negative stars, I would.
