We order out from this establishment every so often. Tonight we ordered out for fish fry, and ordered 2 4-piece fish meals. When we got home and opened our food, both orders had been mistakenly packed with 3 pieces instead. I called, and they immediately worked and refunded us the difference of the prices for the 2 meals. I know to some people $4 isn't a lot, but the fact that they did it without being asked means a lot. The service provided is never short of kind. While we are bummed about being short a piece (simply because its so good), we appreciate the good-natured integrity of this restaurant and its staff.

So I stopped by here with some coworkers, Duffy and Larry, and the lunch was really great. All through lunch all Duffy kept talking about was how once he invested in stock with Cyrex and how they were bought out by IBM and how it should have made him rich and it didn't. He went on about how he bored some old college friends of his and their girlfriends to death the night this happened years ago in 1997 and how irritated they got with him when he wouldn't shut up about it. Thank god for the fact that he bought for the whole table that giant soft pretzel and all those dippin' sauces! Because I realized I forgot my wallet that day and that if I listened to his Cyrex stock market story and acted super interested, I could likely get him to buy me lunch... like he alwasy does Larry.. becuase larry literally worshops this guy... and guess what?!? It totally worked! I acted just like Larry and that everything out of Duffy's mouth was nothing but pure genius and he could care less that I forgot my wallet and bought us all lunch! Now I know all this garbage about Cyrex stock from 1997 that is anything but interesting... so much information about Cyrex stock... I need to remember 100% from now on to bring my wallet to lunch... but I at least have this YESMAN rutine I can fall back on if need be with Duffy and Larry. Larry probably doesn't really care what he says eaither so long as he gets his lunch paid... no, no, that dude genuinely worships Duffy... so annoying.

And so I asked for water with lemon because I was nauseated, and the waitress kind of laughed and came back with water without lemon. Which- is not a big deal! But then I asked for my burger well done (again-pregnant) and it came back pink. So it was just those two things where I really needed that extra bit of help from the service staff to help out. We tipped well and everyone was kind, but it's just those small details that really matter.

We told them many times that we don’t eat pork, but they still brought a bacon burger. The salad also had pork in it, which they never mentioned, and we ended up eating it by mistake. When we called the waitress, she just took the food back with a careless attitude. She said she’d “fix the mistake” on the bill, but still charged us for food we didn’t even eat. Even though we explained this was for religious reasons, they didn’t take it seriously at all. Definitely avoid this place if you have any dietary restrictions.

My band of brothers and I stopped by this joint on the way to a Mexican Radio station and it was deeeeeelish. The boys and I had a real nice time. It was quite the setup... and quite the getup... of hops and suds that is... some might call this place a burnnin' Ring Of Fire. We will certainly remember this place when we come back to the Midwest for some of our fancy singin' shows promoting our new release this year... first in 27 years.... Quite the nice surprise this place was. That big ol' pretzel was somethin' I tell ya... and them dippin' sauces.... quite the deeeelight. Y'all give our new record a listen..... 'er else.

Stopped in on a Sunday 4pm ish. Place was pretty empty. Hostess was sweeping when we walked in and couldn’t be bothered to stop to talk to us so after us repeating ourselves twice we just waited for her to finish. Despite there being many empty tables, and being asked where we wanted to sit, we requested a 4 seat we were placed at a small table anyway. Again, place was pretty empty. The next 2 parties were also seated on each side of us, not a long of space. Our waitress needed to be prompted for drink refills, we had to ask about our food once the people who came in and ordered well after us were served and had been eating for a bit. The food was “ok”. Service was a zero.

You know I've heard some things about this place up north of Chicago... I live in Frankfort now with my wife and kids and we decided to stop in on our way up to Lake Geneva and Door County a couple of times... then I saw our band sticker in the middle of the bar.... what the! This is the spot! The food was fantastic, the brew selection was tops and the atmosphere and music was just right. No one recognized me... or they just did and kept to themselves to be cool and leave us be... whatever the case... Maybe they'll let the guys and I setup shop in the corner and we could belt out a couple Chicago Style Hardcore Hits some random Saturday Night after RiotFest is over... maybe... maybe... we've done that in Smelgin and Lombard a couple times outta nowhere so... ya neva know! Man that massive soft pretzel! And them dippin sauces!
