We have eaten in the cafe several times and have overall had a good experience. The food can take a long time some days, but it’s always fresh and very good. Since we never really had an issues dining in, we decided to get carryout with the cold weather and having two small children. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back. My kids waffles were cold and tasted old, we asked for extra berries and light whipped cream, and it came with just a light dusting of powdered sugar, zero berries or whipped cream. I asked for extra salsa, and got none instead. And my $16 chorizo breakfast burrito that I have got multiple times had the equivalent of about a tablespoon of chorizo in it. Super disappointed, they either don’t care about carryout customers or unfortunately this cafe is going downhill.

I panicked when I was ordering this afternoon, 100% my fault. When I received my food, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. The sweet girl that took my order took back the food and corrected everything to my liking.
Thanks to you. I appreciate your support and patience.

Nice place, great food, great service, and nicely decorated. We stopped in for something to eat, seated ourselves, and we were promptly greeted by our server Kiera. We both ordered iced tea, and when Kiera returned, we ordered our food, which came quickly. My meat lovers omelette and my wifes bbq chicken panini were both delicious, and the iced tea was one of the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Decor was very nice, with the old metal ceiling, and old wooden floor. Walls were decorated tastefully, and added to the antique atmosphere. Great cafe for breakfast or lunch. My only gripe is that it was pretty noisy, but quieted down as the crowd thinned. We will come back!

This place is open only for breakfast and lunch. Most of menu is breakfast. Had a veggie omelet a little bland. Husband had veggie burrito. It was ok. We went here because the place looked quaint. But it is staged to look old. Sat next to merchandise for sale. I guess it's a place for people summering in Lake Geneva because prices are above average for place in middle of farm country.

Super cute place.
But why do you charge an extra dollar for milk in your coffee?? And .75 for one shot of syrup. So if you want flavor in your latte it’s over $7 for a small latte?! Kinda criminal.

I really wanted to try this place as I drive by it quite often on my way to work. I walked in at 1:47 and I do know they close at 2 PM hoping I could order a sandwich to go. They said their kitchen was closed, but they could offer me a coffee to go. If you’re closing time states 2 PM I know it’s not ideal to have a customer walk in so close to close but I would still expect you to be able to whip up a deli sandwich pretty quickly. It’s not a gourmet dinner I’m asking for. Probably won’t ever try it now. Although it’s very cute and inviting inside and outside.

110% recommend! This place is a gem, and everything was delicious. I got the avocado toast and by far one of the best ones I've ate. My boyfriend got the waffles which were also wonderful. My favorite was the lattes! Cannot praise them enough, the cafe miel is top tier. Will be coming back if we're ever back in town!

Perfect location! Beautifully decorated. I was left alone and server forgot about me for a few minutes but hostess/cashier came over and took my order. The chicken pesto panini was amazing! Probably the best panini I’ve had in Illinois. So much flavor and texture
