Everyone was pleasantly attentive. The service and food were very good. I highly recommend this restaurant. The Chicago thin crust pizza is now one of my favorite pizzas.

Our first but definitely not our last time dining here! Really enjoyed the neighborhood feel of the restaurant. Must have seen at least 20 people greet each other when they walked into the bar area. And when you eat the entrees, you can understand why. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Even the owner/manager walked around to greet us and others at our table. Poured us water and even grabbed us some silverware. Fun spot and with an outdoor patio, definitely worth visiting during warmer weather.

Our waitress was absolutely lovely and attentive with my partner and I. The food was an A+ for our first time there and we loved everything we ordered. The only downside to the experience were the high top chairs by the windows where we were seated. The bar had better chairs than we did and my partner's chair kept squeaking and tilting whenever he tried to get comfortable. We had to sit on our coats since there was no other place to put them. It was the only thing that made us uncomfortable while we were dining here

We had a reservation for an early New Year's Eve dinner. The hostess tried to seat us at one of the worse tables and I requested a better one. She refused to accommodate my request and offered us an even worse table equipped with backless stools. She told me that was the best she could do because they had 35 reservations. I reminded her that we were one of those reservation. She told me that we had 2 hours to spend there. We decided to eat at the bar, where we received excellent service, met some nice people, and enjoyed our food, which was served piping hot and was very good. So despite the rude hostess we had a good experience.

This was our second visit to LA Barra, first was good food and cocktails, but bad service, we thought to give it another try, and the time the server started out great, but when my friend pulled out a strip of a plastic out of the bottom of his drink, the waitress took it. And said I'll just tell the bartender it wasn't good, and poured some water into it so it wouldn't appear that he drank most of it. We didn't understand for logic, anyway, she brought him a new cocktail. Then when our food came, unfortunately, the same person at our table started to eat his food when he discovered along black hair cooked on to his piece of chicken. He did not want to say anything about it. So I called our waitress to the table and I explained my friend won't say anything about it , but I will and showed her the long strand of black hair, she looked with disbelief as if we put it, there, took the plate away and brought back half the portion that was taken away from that point she stopped checking on our table. After that, neither my wife or his wife could finish their portion of food nor did he. She, our waitress brought to go boxes. to the table, we took the leftovers, but through them out once we got outside. There was nothing taken off the bill. I have experienced working in restaurants, so does my wife, we could not believe they didn't even offer anything for the inconvenience we encountered. More so, my friend who got worst of it, a piece of plastic in this drink and a hair in this chicken. Terrible, we won't be back there again. We paid over three hundred dollars for the four of us , including tip, which was still a little more than twenty percent that she did not deserve.

This was our 10th year attending Riverside's Holiday stroll and our 10th year having dinner post- stroll at La Barra. In spite of it being a busy evening, the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Our server informed us that the kitchen was busy, suggested appetizers, and promptly delivered our drinks. The food was delicious as always. We ordered a variety of appetizers (the ravioli nachos are our favorite!) and a variety of entrees. (The kids enjoyed the pizza and the rest of us indulged in fillet sliders, chicken parmesan, and beet salad.) We definitely recommend this neighborhood favorite and will be back next year (if not sooner!)

Super Tuscan - Not sure what was off. At first I thought my taste was off, the i spent some time swirling the wine. The wine began to taste old - like the bottle had been open two long. It did not improve Bistro Filet - Was first delivered to my table as a hamburger. Waitress returned and apologized for the error. She then verified my order. Music and restaurant were loud. I normally order steaks rare to achieve a medium rare state. My past experience at this was that steaks were spot on. Friday was different. Steak arrived beyond Medium. Problem I had already been there for 90 minutes and overly hungry. It was my decision to eat the steak without comment. Even good restaurants can have bad nights or bad for a single table. Especially when super busy
