We love this place. We’ve been visiting the Chew Chew ever since they were In the building right off of the railroad tracks, and our daughters were very young. When that building closed, we were very sad. However when we found out, they were opening a new restaurant in their current location. We were very happy. We’ve been there for various Events over the years: birthdays, graduations, and just for a dinner out. The place is so cute in the ambience is so nice. And the food is outstanding. Last night we went there for my wife’s birthday. I had a giant, cowboy steak, and my daughter and my wife had versions of filet mignon. Both of which they loved. The service was awesome, the people are nice. We will continue to go back there for as long as they will have us. :-)

Cocktails were top notch and service was excellent. The Gouda Mac and cheese was a bit “soupy” and not sure if this was intentional. Flavor very good though. Very nice place and we'll be back.

We had a wonderful meal with great service from Rebecca. I had the scallops with corn risotto and hubby had the jambalaya. Their edamame was delicious and so was the key lime. Can't wait to go back.

Another wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at The Chew Chew! Our waitress, Josephine was wonderful! Fun, personable, sparkly and made excellent suggestions. The Artichoke Heart Tempura needs to be added to the everyday menu! So good! From the hot bread, cocktails, starters, dinners and desserts, everything was fantastic!
We love The Chew Chew and highly recommend it for the food, drinks, service, atmosphere, location, etc. On our most recent visit, the service was a little slower than usual. Not horribly so, but the pace of the meal wasn't as spot-on as it usually is. Because we've not experienced that here before, I'm going to say it was a fluke. We will absolutely go back because as I said, everything about this gem of a restaurant is worth it!

We recently dined at The Chew Chew while visiting Chicago. Our server was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and very accommodating with dietary restrictions. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, truly one of the better meals we had during our trip.
Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by how rushed we felt throughout dinner. The bus person was extremely quick to clear plates—so much so that one of our party members still had food in their mouth when their plate was cleared away. Our dishes disappeared the moment a fork hit the table, and dessert was never even offered.
Our reservation was at 5:00 p.m., and we were finished and out the door by 6:36 p.m., so it certainly wasn’t a case of us lingering. As we stepped out, we could see two new parties being seated immediately at our table. While we understand the restaurant was busy, it took away from what could have been a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience.
