A small unpaved road makes it easy to miss when driving by so trust your navigation when it says the turn is coming up. They have some really fantastic whiskeys here as well as cocktails that really seemed to embrace the liquor it was paired with. Great views in the outdoor seating area.

This might be my favorite local Illinois distillery. Located in a country-like setting on the outskirts of Rockford,they produce whiskey,bourbon,vodka,rum as well as specialty spirits.
Located on a 22 acre farm that grows vegetables,fruits and herbs that are all used at the distillery.
Open Fri-Sun with food available but check their website for specific hours. Live music most of the time as well.
My wife had a Lavender Lemon Martini which was very refreshing but she said she would have liked to taste more lavender.
I had a Bourbon Old Fashion instead of their Whiskey Old Fashion and it was absolutely delicious.
I would like to try one of their Whiskey flights on my next visit as they do sell bottles to go

I convinced my friend to go with me last night. The vibe was kinda cute but awkward, kind of got nursing home vibes(definitely an age 55 and up place), but we went in positive. I love trying out new places, and I had never been there before, so I asked questions about the menus and it felt like I was bothering her by asking questions, I could hear the annoyance in her voice, though I know she kept trying to sound friendly. She stopped sounding so annoyed by payment time. I was happy we tried it, but neither of us would return. We shared a 6 shot flight and each got the same mixed drink to chase, but none of the shots were good, in our opinion. We were arguing about who had to finish these shots, they were landing hot in the stomach and flaming up out of our noses, we just wanted out ??

We arrived just before Noon and placed our orders. Our daughter and I received our Brats fairly quickly, maybe after 15 minutes, but were surprised when my Wife’s sliders didn’t arrive as well or even shortly after. We gave the benefit of the doubt initially and thought maybe it was because they were finishing orders at a large group’s table. So we continued waiting for the sliders to arrive. Once all the orders for the large group had arrived, which was 20-30 after we received our 2 orders of brats, we talked to the lady that took our order and mentioned that we hadn’t received our order of sliders yet. She said that the kitchen was 15 minutes behind, to which we responded that we had already received our brat orders. They looked surprised at that and said they would check on our sliders. We continued waiting at our table and within 5 minutes after mentioning that our order of sliders weren’t delivered an order of sliders from kitchen came out and the lady we talked to indicated to the kitchen staff that they would deliver them. Since we had just spoken with her we thought she was going to make sure they were delivered to my Wife. Instead she delivered the sliders to a table of people that had arrived well after we had. At that point we still were trying to give the benefit of the doubt and waited another 10-15 minutes before I went up and closed our tab, after having them remove the sliders from the bill. Long story short, the one individual that didn’t get their order in the whole place was a person of color and our impression is that it was an intentional act. I highly recommend passing on giving this place any form of business because of this unacceptable behavior!!! I would give negative stars if I could.

We visited for the first time on Father’s Day an half hour after they opened. We ordered drinks and food. Everyone in our party received their food except me ( I was the only minority in the group). After 1 1/2 hours, we closed our tab and left since I wasn’t served. We patiently waited since they were getting busy and people were served out of order. However, we asked about my food and was told they were 15 minutes behind (mind you it had been 1 1/2 hours). An order of sliders came up and she preceded to serve them to a table that arrived an hour after us. If a certain group of people aren’t welcome, hang a sign to let us know so we don’t waste our time or money!

What a hidden gem! I have gone twice now to Barnstormers and will continue to go in the future. It’s a warm inviting atmosphere out in the countryside. The drinks are delicious and fairly priced. The owners are just so sweet and very engaged with customers. If you are looking for a place to relax have a drink and enjoy some views this is the place!
