If you want the best, fresh (you can see the live fish in a tank, and observe the filleting) grilled catfish (fillet) you’ll have to ask for it. But you will be rewarded with the most tender catfish you’ve ever had. The seasoning was perfect and it comes with a container of hot sauce if you want some heat. The yams were delicious and the greens (collard) had a hambone to enhance the flavor. Authentic soul/seafood at its finest right there in Rockford, IL.

I been here a few and never had an issue till this last time I went! I ordered a fish basket which was more then the price I was given, one piece wasn't done enough, the fries were too soft and there was hair in the middle of my dressing. Apparently the number I have don't work and then they were closed. Was not happy at all with this visit

I'm from southern Virginia. I don't miss the cooking anymore. Peach Nehi with some fresh fries and a rib tip basket had me asking my grandmother for forgiveness I liked the food so much.

Me & my partner got catfish dinners. Best catfish in Rockford! Big pieces. Hot fresh. Sides are good reminds you of the south. Great service the 2 ladies were so nice checking in while we ate in the car 10/10 will be back!

I can always depend on stopping by Chuc-a-Luc's for his delicious collard greens, butter beans, and candy yams. Every bite is simply good. I love that there is a place in the Community that serves devious Soul Food...

Food was GREAT had frog legs and a side of chitterlings tasted delicious. I always make sure I get them frog legs when I come home no place like Chuc A Luc’s!!! Thanks, Charles Doby and staff✌🏽
