I ordered the catfish which came with 2 sides. I had greens and dressing. Couldn’t decide on only 2 sides so ordered the spaghetti, Mac n cheese, yams and cabbage as well. The fish was huge and received 2 pieces. Dressing came with cranberry sauce and was perfect. Greens were very good but could have been cooked slightly more (for my taste). The cabbage was very tasty. The yams were sweet and amazing. The spaghetti was good and came with 2 pieces of garlic bread made with slices of bread (which was truly VERY tasty!). The Mac n cheese was not baked but rather tastes like the kind you get from Kwik Trip. That was the only thing I would not order again. The servings were HUGE and I had enough for 3 meals. Will definitely be back.

The catfish filets and cabbage were the bomb and the service was fantastic as well. Don't let the condition of the building deter you! I will definitely patronize and try something different next time I'm in the Rockford area.

I really did not want to hate this place. I went here for the 1st time and placed my order of catfish fillets and dressing and a chicken wing and catfish nuggets basket.I waited almost an hour for my food just to be told they didn't have catfish fillets ( Strike one).So I got chicken wings instead. After waiting and finally getting my food the catfish nuggets were absolutely terrible, I couldn't eat it. And the fries were just too gross. Not edible food at all. (Strike Two)Then I got the booty part of the bread ? (strike three)Fries 0/0 not edibleCatfish nuggets 0/0 not edibleThe chicken wings was 6/10Dressing was 7/10

I visit Rockford once in awhile. So glad I had taste for FRIED Green Tomatoes. ? I googled places near me. Drove there, ordered, waited patiently for food. A lovely lady brought out to me. Once I saw here I knew it was gonna be great. She put hot sauce in container, poked holes and everything.??It was time, they were Crunchy, Seasoned to Perfection. I didn’t want to share,but I did. ❤️Get you some?️?
Rip tips and spaghetti is to die for!!! Thier fish is decent. The atmosphere is not much because it's a take out joint. You can order and sit in your car and someone brings the food to you.

You select your choice of fish from the inside pond and they keep netting until they get the fish you desire. Next, they inquire about how you need your fish processed: steaks, filets, thickness. Even recommended you keep the fish heads for your gardening needs. Fresh catfish killed without the muscles tightening leaving you with rubbery fish, NOT at Chuc a Luc. You can see and taste the freshness in every bite.

3rd and final time visiting! Rib Tips weren't dried out and burnt this time, but extremely tough. Asked for extra sauce and didn't get any. It is a Vinegar based sauce and all you taste is Vinegar. Corn Bread was hard as a Hockey Puck, Dressing had a funky taste and it was just a big BLOB with a slice of canned Cranberry sauce. I can definitely cook this meal much better at home for way less than the $19 I spent on this meal.
