They claim to close at 2 a.m. but they start telling people to leave at 1:15. So everyone is out at 1:20. Security staff is extremely rude. Bartender is on point tho. No complaints on the bartenders. The sound system sucks.

Absolutely great food, ?. Place was great. The guy below or above me in the reviews, gave it 2 ? but said he had a really good time. I've been here many times since 2011, I go in I eat, I mind my own buisness, I tp 20% no matter what. If you mind your own, there will be absolutely no problems. Guaranteed

Kid-friendliness: Don't take kid's to a bar. Seriously kid's have no business in any bar. And please don't get me mistaken, EVERYTHING ABOUT CJ'S is great. Kid friendly and bars is an oxymoron! For real!!I grew up in bar's. My mom was the bar tender and my dad was the bouncer. Every day from diapers to 9 year's old, i had to be IN the VFW, THE EAGLES, THE OWLS, MASONIC TEMPLES, THE MOOSE, AMERICAN LEGION, Phil's place, Paul's oasis, webbers, the amvets, the locker room, B and G, and on and on straight from school to a bar until closing, i would sleep underthe table in the corner, many nights the morning bartender would wake me up and run me home real quick. For the sake of your kids, keep them out of any bar please. To this day I will not drink alcohol of any form. Got a dui and driving with no license charges when I was 15, my dad wrecked his car into a concrete retaining wall, and he passed out with his head on the horn i was taking drinks that people would leave on their tables. So I had to drag him over to my seat the passenger seat of a booger green 79 Cadillac coup Deville. (Some guy that hated my dad and was sleeping with my mother called the cops to report my dad driving drunk he became my step dad shortly after that, and my dad left me and my siblings at home with no money, no food, no rides, NO NOTHING), as soon as I pulled in my drive way cops pulled up from every angle, i didn't know what to do at the age of 15. My dad, He just passed away back in November he was 71. Alcohol is what killed him, low and behold his parents introduced him to alcohol when he was 16, he got picked in the selective service on his 18th birthday and went to Vietnam, in the army. After his tours of duty he was a full fledged Alcoholic and a full time drunk . CJ's is a great place, BUT NO ESTABLISHMENT THAT SELLS ALCOHOL SHOULD ALLOW KIDS IN THE DOOR, and I'm mainly talking about bars, pubs, clubs, I apologize I'm from Ohio, and the part I'm from Walmart dosent even sell alcohol, you have to go to a state store or to a drive thru(one you actually drive into the building) Illinois is so greedy they sell it everywhere as long as you buy the license.

I had a nice time at cjs really looked like a good bar. Bouncers greeted the group went up to get a drink, one of the bartenders was really rude and just didn’t seem to like his job. (He also kicked out a group of girls. I don’t know what they did, but with this guy it didn’t seem like you’d have to do much) bouncers did their job great other bartenders were very nice and welcoming

Average dive bar with pop music. Patrons are mostly ~20s-early 40s. Ice cream shots are either really good or miss the mark. Not a bad place for getting together with a small or larger group. They only accept cash.
