Love going here in the summer.
Always the best place for old fashioned soft serve.
Ice cream was a little to soft for my liking. Ribs were good!
So they had a sign and I was thinking about getting ribs but when I went up to order the lady behind the counter said they didn’t have the grill person there to cook. Other customers tried to order food just to be told the same thing as me. Why would you have the sign out if you don’t have a grill to cook? I ended up getting some ice cream and it was good but I wanted to eat some food food.
I got a strawberry cheesecake sundae, it was delicious and a huge portion! I'm new to the neighborhood and will definitely be visiting more next summer.You may want to bring cash if you aren't getting a lot because there is a $2 charge for a using a card. I figured since it was a seasonal business that they might not accept cards so I came prepared!
The highlight of my 3 hour bi-monthly drive from Madison to Rockford. I stop here every time during the summer and it's always delicious. Wish they were open fall, Winter, and spring as well lol.
Definitely a hidden gem but one that definitely shouldn't be passed up best ice cream I've had

Best ice cream shop in Illinois! If you have never visited, you're missing out!I've been eating here since1968. And hope to return till I'm laid in ground. You had me at Granita!
Ice cream was good, the old medium cooler is now the large, and prices went up. but the craziest part is a $2 flat fee on debit cards. average is 1%-3.5% of the transaction. not 22%. wont be back.
Good banana split, but didn't compared to old owners banana splits which were excellent. Very skimpy on fruit, chocolate sauce and nuts. It mostly sat on top (got it in a cup). Bananas at bottom were cut in half long ways and stuck under just ice cream so it was 3/4th's ice milk and all else on top 1/4th and bananas at bottom. Was good but not worth the high price.
Tried the chicken wings w/fries and a strawberry cheesecake sundae and they both were GREAT! I really enjoyed the grilled taste of the chicken wings!
Since the new owners have taken over everything there has gone downhill for me. The service was slow and the workers don’t seem to care about much. And I have been going there since I moved to Rockford. I’ve been coming here for years. And I am throughly disappointed
