I've been visiting Dari Fair since 1995, always a great experience! We are lucky to still have Dari Fair in our community.

Love going here in the summer.

Classic type of ice cream stand in Rockford that's been a longtime summer favorite. Dari Fair is another one of those seasonal places. It has the big window to order at and a drive thru. Has more than just the ice cream. There's also burgers, pretzels, and more. A pretty good location in a mostly quiet area. It's on Kilburn Avenue close to Searls Park. This makes for a nice stop after walking around or whatever. Has about what to expect from an ice cream place. It's about $2.25 for a slushie. Also there's some hot food. It's about $2.95 for a pretzel. Pretty basic stuff. It's not great or anything. They're known for the soft serve, so if getting ice cream get that. Has seasonal hours. It opens in the spring and is the busiest obviously in summer. They close up for the winter.

Always the best place for old fashioned soft serve.

Ice cream was a little to soft for my liking. Ribs were good!

So they had a sign and I was thinking about getting ribs but when I went up to order the lady behind the counter said they didn’t have the grill person there to cook. Other customers tried to order food just to be told the same thing as me. Why would you have the sign out if you don’t have a grill to cook? I ended up getting some ice cream and it was good but I wanted to eat some food food.

I got a strawberry cheesecake sundae, it was delicious and a huge portion! I'm new to the neighborhood and will definitely be visiting more next summer. You may want to bring cash if you aren't getting a lot because there is a $2 charge for a using a card. I figured since it was a seasonal business that they might not accept cards so I came prepared!

The highlight of my 3 hour bi-monthly drive from Madison to Rockford. I stop here every time during the summer and it's always delicious. Wish they were open fall, Winter, and spring as well lol.

Best ice cream shop in Illinois! If you have never visited, you're missing out!I've been eating here since1968. And hope to return till I'm laid in ground. You had me at Granita!

Ice cream was good, the old medium cooler is now the large, and prices went up. but the craziest part is a $2 flat fee on debit cards. average is 1%-3.5% of the transaction. not 22%. wont be back.

Ah, memories! Places like Dari Fair bring back those memories of so long ago, in simpler times when places like this were the rule, not the exception. This place is north and west of the Burpee Museum, where we had just attended a free (YES FREE) concert by the Cash Box Kings which was quite well attended. I like to look for a dessert after the show, and we hadn't been to this place so I decided to take a short ride (around 6 minutes) north and west.Looking at the place, it's a classic early 60's / 70's mom and pop soft serve place. It's now equipped with better soft serve equipment, but the outside is just pure original fun.We looked at the options - I ordered their Strawberry Cheesecake Sundae, and my wife had their Small Mint Chocolate Chip sundae.Keep in mind, their small is a LARGE most places. Their Large is GIANT.I could see and taste the real strawberries in my sundae, as well as chunks of cheesecake material (graham cracker bits) on the vanilla soft serve, which was scrumptious. My wife said similar things about her mint chocolate chip sundae - it was a topping laid over the vanilla ice cream. Will we be back? Bet on it - this place is great! They have two windows in the front - one is ice cream only, the other is ice cream and everything else.Pay with cash, or pay the $2 convenience fee for using a credit card.Plenty of parking is available, with seating to the right (south) of the service windows.
