Made a reservation. After waiting 20 minutes was told it would be 40 minutes more. Asked point of reservation - the manager said headcount. Enjoyed lunch elsewhere.
Amazing experience, super friendly and welcoming staff. Very very nice ambiance. The food was quite good and beautifully plated, however I will say that the portions are a bit conservative for the price point, but I think its worth it for the overall experience.
Yozie is AWESOME! What an asset to your team! We actually always come to both Fresco and Francesco's and request her to help our family! Great service, personality, very friendly! Service is what keeps us coming back!
As always Fresco at the Garden was wonderful. The Easter brunch was excellent. Very good choices, quality offerings, the service was outstanding. Never disappoints.
It would have been nice to know the price up front. Also some foods were just processed packaged food. That is so not worth the price you charged
We had a large party of 9 and everything was set up for us perfect. Jasmin was our waitress and she was kind and patient. Food was warm and fast. Everyone commented on the presentation and deliciousness.
The food was pretty good. Our waiter was great but a little slow at times returning to the table. It wasn't outrageous, but noticeable. I would eat there again.
Wonderful place to relax and have lunch.

It was wonderful afternoon. We sat at a window table and the view was beautiful. The food was delicious. We had a hard time deciding what to eat, it all sounded so good. We will definitely come back to try another dish!
Food & atmosphere was very nice. I believe they were short staffed as it took a really long time for our food to come out.

Always fabulous!
Visited the Anderson Japanese Gardens this past Saturday afternoon and found this lovely eatery located in the Garden’s visitors center. The atmosphere is beautiful with window views of parts of the garden that make you feel like you are outdoors. (There is outdoor seating as well) The interior is beautiful, and at the same time casual. The service was excellent, even though it was quite busy.
The food was outstanding. We had a Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries and Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce. Both were hot and quite tasty. The burger was cooked to perfection and the fries looked and taste like they were homemade. The eggs were also excellent and the hollandaise sauce was subtle and served on the side.
The prices were reasonable for a tourist attraction in Illinois. I highly recommend a visit to both the Gardens and the “Fresco at the Gardens” if you are in the area.

We decided to have brunch and spend time with my girlfriends. Mimosas were on point but out of the 3 breakfast 2 were good and 1 was not. It was sent back twice and it still wasn't as prepared as ordered. One of us didn't get to eat the brunch. The waitress didn't even have the manager or anyone come to my table to address the issue. That was a total disappointment!
I'm not sure if it was the manager or someone else, they seemed annoyed that not everyone could show up for our reservation. Aside from that, the service from our waitress was pretty good. The food was good but they overcooked the steaks by quite a bit. Prices are also fairly high. It seemed like the same person, seemingly the manager, was trying to rush us out after our meal. This was a bit annoying since there were plenty of available tables and seating, and we weren't in a prime location of the restaurant nor were we loud or disruptive.
Horrible service negated the beautiful setting in Anderson Japanese Gardens. We had reservations from 1 pm and arrived 5 minutes early and immediately setting on the patio. It took 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. We watched as those who were seated after us were served. I commented to the hostess about the lack of service and was told “we have a lot going on.” After we finally ordered, our server stopped by to ask if we wanted “any after dinner items.” We were confused since we had not yet received our entrees. We realized later that this was because they were rushing to close promptly at 2 pm. Had we been able to place our orders shortly after being seated, we thought an hour was sufficient to eat lunch before they closed. The two other members of our party had the lettuce wraps, which they said were fine. My crab cakes were not cooked in the center and lacked the same presentation of this that I saw served to other guests. As we were finishing our lunches, a staff member came by to she if she could collect out water glasses since they closed at 2. As she left, she repeated, “We close at 2.” We felt rushed and punished because they chose not to begin our service until 45 minutes before they closed. Perhaps they should not take reservations after 1 pm. Unfortunately, our experience at Fresco at the Gardens put a damper on an otherwise pleasant first time visit to Anderson Japanese Gardens and tarnished the brand of that attraction.
