I myself love Los Portales. The restaurant Atmosphere reminds me of being at home, living with my grandmother. The food is great, the service is fast and the employees are very friendly and helpful for first-time customers. I have ordered there several times but I always see people who are first timers. The employees run them through the menu and give personal suggestions at the same time asking what that customers likes. They do a great job at Los Portales

By far my favorite resturant in all of Rockford. Really good food at amazing prices. this place has kept me happy and full for years now. I've been in here at 2 am with crust punks, karens, and some shady dudes all here to get some great Mexican good. one of the best melting pots of people in all of Rockford. God I live this place so much. 15/10.

The food and presentation was not impressive. Less than average place. Over 27$ for a steak burrito and steak burrito dinner. Not worth it. Mexico Classico is worth it.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for the last 11 years. Love their food, never had a complaint. Tacos de lengua are amazing, chicken tamales are always good and stuffed with chicken. Rice and beans always good. Guacamole love it. Hit sauce is always spicy, horchata can never go wrong there. I love the food and atmosphere in the restaurant. I always recommend this place to everyone. Best Mexican restaurant in town.

Excellent and authentic. Steak burrito or chicken burrito, you can’t go wrong. I’ve been eating here for almost 20 years, decor has changed still the burritos are awesome. Also try the fish taco. The “sketchy” neighborhood is safe. Katy corner from the street is an old grand hotel that now is a low income high rise. Right on the edge of downtown Rockford, you should check it out. Laptedooma

Legitimate authentic Mexican food. I really liked the al pastor and the chorizo. Dine-in service is a bit odd. You order at the counter for delivery to the table. To leave you’ll need to get your check from a server. Clean restaurant in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood.
