Anyone can sell you coffee and pastries. There are over 68 coffee and tea establishments in the Rockford area alone.
There are 11 coffee shops from one national brand and another 5 from a national chain that specialize in donuts.
So why do I go to Meg’s?
The people that sell me my coffee are the reason. I’m not alone in this thought. It’s like going to the fictitious local bar “Cheers” in the 80’s.
Everyone is treated the same. Welcomed, greeted cheerfully, and asked if they are having their usual.
How do they remember everyone’s “regular”?
I think it’s because they care.
One other thing brings me in…the coffee and menu items are incredible!

The atmosphere is great – a great study spot. The workers are nice enough, and service is fast. The only downside in my experience is some of the drinks. Don't get the London Fog. It's Early Grey tea with FIVE pumps of vanilla and a splash of cream – which is not particularly traditional to the London Fog and also results in a drink that tastes like drinking straight up vanilla syrup lol.

Drive through service was fast which was nice, but the French vanilla wasn’t the typical taste for a cappuccino, could just be the flavoring. Was also served ridiculously hot, which hey, better than having a lukewarm coffee, just couldn’t hold it in my hand very long :/ We’d still try again though.

Excellent medium roast drip coffee. One of the few places that knows how to make a proper scone with a near crunchy exterior. Nice job Meg!

I don’t live in IL but this is my absolute fave place to grab coffee and muffins when driving to and from Madison and Chicago. It’s 2 Mn past the Starbucks and absolutely worth it!
