i was hesitant to leave this review and when I started reading other reviews I see I’m not the only one that noticed this and the issue hasn’t been taking care of. They have a major issue with bugs if you don’t mind going to eat with bugs flying everywhere & swarming around your food and face while you’re trying to eat, then this is the place for you. If they have this issue in the dinning room can you imagine what the kitchen is like?? I was not pleased one bit and will definitely not be returning. Let’s be real things happen but, when you have multiple complaints about bugs and it’s not addressed then it’s obvious they don’t care! Makes sense why the parking lot is always bare.

Chavez Mexican Restaurante is an amazingly put together restaurant. The friendly staff provide prompt and excellent service. The pipin' hot food comes out fresh with great flavors and a multitude of choices on the menu to choose from paired with curated photo examples. The surrrounding atmosphere is very cozy and nicely decorated,the design of the restrooms are most impressive and very modern. Id highly recommend anybody to come and eat here,the only problem this place suffers from is its location,if it were further east along east state I'd have no doubt in my mind that this would become the next hit spot to be.

Nasty food and extremely DIRTY…the entire wall was FULL of bugs while we were eating and they did nothing about it…tried 3 different plates all were so nasty!! Never again!!

Salsa and guacamole were delicious. Had the ground beef tacos with beans and rice. Everything tasted great. Service was excellent! We will be returning.

Mariel is our requested server every time! What a sweetheart!! Food is always excellent! Birria(goat) is amazing! Burritos Suizo was amazing!! Not a complaint just an observation… the noise level is high even when not real busy!! Rockford’s BEST Mexican restaurante!! ❤️❤️❤️

The food is good. We had a reservation for 6 people and they wanted to put us at a high top in the bar. It's a nice enough looking place.

They have really good food here and we were seated immediately. The staff was really friendly and the restaurant has a nice open atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!

They catered my 200+ person wedding, including cocktail hour snacks and full service dinner. It was incredible! The food was delicious and we had many guests talk about how great it was, but they also just went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Jose was in communication with me every step of the way, made everything so easy, and was so quick to respond to any questions I had. Highly recommend for any catering needs!
