Came in, wasn't greeted by anyone. Two different rooms. The one we sat in, we were told we wouldn't be served sitting there. So we moved to the other room and the only available tables were for four or more, nope, couldn't sit there either. After no attempt to accommodate us, we left. Owner and staff get a big fat "0" for there lack of professionalism and fer to attempt any way of accommodating us other than sitting at a "community" table. Never again...

Went for breakfast, really don’t care for most biscuits and gravy it’s like cement at other places, Now Mr.C biscuits and gravy I got this plate called the Stacker , it was awesome. Biscuits and gravy was delicious!!,, can’t wait for tomorrow for breakfast ?

The whole family loves Mr. C's! It's a good option for casual dining or pickup orders when you're looking for comfort food that doesn't try to be fancy instead of exactly what you expect every time. Known for its home style cooking, generous portions, reasonable prices and wide variety of options, it's difficult to go wrong at this local favorite. Open 7 am to 7 pm, the tasty all American style breakfast options are served all day. The burgers are good and have a lot of different choices. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We've sampled a good portion of the menu over the years and not found a stinker (speaking of which, they have clean, well maintained bathrooms). The staff is always friendly and Mr. C is a genuinely nice guy. If you want the classic American food that's been a staple for decades done right and without a bunch of unnecessary frills that just drive up the prices, you can find it here.
Parking: There's a nice big lot for hassle-free parking.
Kid-friendliness: Plentiful options for all the kids and kid-friendly seating and staff.

Wow! All these years, and look what I've been missing! A friend of mine took me here, a place I'd been meaning to try for a very long time. We went in the middle if the afternoon and it was still about half full, when most places are empty. I guess weekends are just mobbed. And I can see why. Best home cooking around, at EXCELLENT prices. Some of the best chicken around, and the best wings in Rockford. I've gotta try the 1 lb. burger (as big as your head), next time, for only $6.99. But it's going to be tough not to get the chicken again. It was SO good. Definitely no MSG in the chicken either, as I'm very sensitive to it. The homemade coleslaw is the best I've had too! I'll have to review even more when I've tried more, but such a great experience here. Nice location near Farm and Fleet on W. State, across from the golf course. Update August 2024: went for the 815 day, $8.15 1 lb. burgers! Amazing!! Best deals around and very good food! We came all the way over from Belvidere and it was well worth it!! Thanks!!

On a recent vacation we had the pleasure of eating at Mr C's. My brother and I both ordered the goulash we were not disappointed. Boy was it good. When I'm in the area again I'm eating at Mr C's.

Curb side pick up - giant pork tenderloin was excellent and cheese curds are still my favorite cheese curds so far in Rockford. Not sure about atmosphere just because I haven't been inside for many many years.
