Took my mother out for dinner after the Rockford Symphony Holiday Pops show last night. Disappointed with the QR Code menus. We had 2 elderly women at the table with us and they were not able to order items off of the menu without a paper menu. I understand it's cost saving, and contactless but it's not appealing. That was the first disappointment of the meal.We asked for a menu and were given 1 wrinkled paper menu to share for 6 people. Atmosphere is stark, not warm. The dinner itself was outstanding. I did expect a good meal and it did meet my expectations. Did not like the fact I could not purchase a martini with my preference for vodka. They carry 1 type of vodka and it was from Washington state. It was served in a vintage style martini glass with 1 tiny olive. Not what I prefer. I was not able to drink. I feel that if I am paying for a cocktail I would like to enjoy it. I was not charged. Service was just OK. Server/owner/not sure who he was but he was not friendly. Not very knowledgeable because I asked if I could have a specific pasta dish without brisket. He then returned and told us that brisket was part of the sauce and not just put on top of the meal. Well, that was not the case. The brisket was served on top of the pasta. It ended up being very good. Just disappointed overall but again, the meal itself was excellent. It was not enough for us to return. The dining room was very small. Not fond of metal tables. Very cold atmosphere.

I attempted to make reservation online at 5pm and the only times available were at 7pm. I figured they are a busy restaurant so it makes sense but we showed up to a completely empty restaurant, and I mean not a single person. Then they advise that the menu is only on a qr code - my group dislikes that but not a deal breaker. The service was lackluster, friendly-ish but not to the level I would expect especially because the dining room was lovely. Beautiful lighting despite the music not matching the vibe whatsoever and was somewhat off-putting. The menu is limited which is not a problem and we ordered carbonara and caesar salad. The caesar was different than expected but overall OK. The carbonara was pretty good but the noodles were slightly under and the dish desperately needed salt. Also just in case you think I'm being picky I'm Italian and just got back from Rome. There is a lot of potential for this restaurant but it's not quite hitting the mark just yet.

Not from Rockford but we found our way here to visit the local Japanese garden.
After searching Google for dinner plans we settled on Plume and wow, what a great decision that was.
Menu was very intriguing so we ended up trying a bunch of things.
For appetizers the eggplant fries were delicious as well as the fig and prosciutto bruschetta, oh my what unexpected deliciousness! The grilled cauliflower was another delicious dish.
For my main meal I got the lasagna bolognese and omg, this was absolutely fantastic. Fresh homemade noodles and amazing flavors throughout.
Then we got Tiramisu to go and received a giant piece that I couldn't stop eating once we got home.

I had dinner here with a group of coworkers last night. The food was AMAZING!!!!!! We all tried something different and it was all so well prepared and presented. The flavors were outstanding. All of the specialty drinks were good as well. The bar tender was friendly. Our waiter Danny was great and matched our energy. I highly recommend Plume and congratulations to the owner for selecting a great chef and staff. I will be back.

Wow!!!! One of the Best meals we’ve had in Rockford! From the unique appetizers (small plates), all of our main entrees, and dessert, everything was perfect!!! Our waiter, Rick added to the night with being so accommodating and friendly! He was Great! Will be making Plume a regular destination and highly recommend it!!!
What a place! The food is just fantastic and definitely one of the best Italian restaurants around. Everything is just great: the food, the service, the cocktails 🍸 (a bonus point for the limomcello spritz). You'll have a great time there!
