A wonderful small airport in a medium-sized Midwestern city! Facility and staff were pretty great, and we've flown in and out 5 times now, at all times of year and various times of day. The only downsides are limited airlines and limited destinations- main airline is Allegiant, which flies to and from Florida, Las Vegas, and maybe one other vacation-type place. Flights are not every day. Also, motels and restaurants are not super-convenient to the airport. There is a basic snack shop, convenience store, and bar by the gates after TSA check-in. Being so small makes things quite simple and pleasant.

Nice place for a small airport. Unfortunately, no football is allowed on the TVs. It's Sunday, a 2 hour delay and they refuse to change the channel to watch the NFL.

My wife asked for a mule which normally come in copper cups and it did but (Mary) the bartender asked for a passport and held it behind the bar as collateral for the cup. When I asked for my wife’s passport back Mary refused with no explanation. When I asked if it was for the cup she said yes so I asked for a plastic cup for her drink and she handed back the passport. Our personal information should never be held hostage, a “$20 cup” as she said is not worth my wife’s passport laying on the back bar for any time period ever. Can’t really raise a stink in an airport because I’m afraid to get kicked out but this experience was horrible. I love Rockford and love the people, Mary made me just fly Ohare and take the drive. Also is this illegal? Long story short don’t order a drink in a copper cup if you like to keep your passport on your person.

This airport is not your typical major so it doesn't compare with the number of terminals, gates, flights, airlines and amenities but I love this airport for my purposes. I personally go to FL (gulf side) often and this airport and Allegiant airlines fits my purposes which is to get to FL with ease and budget conscious. Destinations are Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda, FL, Orlando, FL, Sarasota, FL, Tampa/St. Pete, FL, Phoenix and Las Vegas. I can park and get to my gate sometimes in 10 minutes. Going through TSA is easy and the TSA reps are so nice. Never stressful going to this airport. Surface parking is close and cost $7 per day unless you want valet and then it's $10. It is further for me to drive here than Milwaukee's Mitchell Field but I prefer this airport if I am flying to FL for vacation. One bar/restaurant called Skyview Cafe. FREE WI-FI Short Lines FREE Baggage Carts Free Parking Lot Shuttle Pick up is easy and baggage claim is right there with flow of traffic designed well and they have an express lane but I've never seen a need for this as the traffic is light.

Friendliest staff you ever wanna meet. just a bunch of hometown folks trying to assist travelers in the best possible way. Only seven dollars a night to park and not a bad parking spot in the place. A shout out to all the staff at Rockford and old national Airport.!!

Chicago Rockford International Airport contains "one of the best-preserved prairies in northern Illinois - a glimpse of the Rockford area prior to colonization." - flyrfd.com Unfortunately, current leadership at the airport have decided to ignore advice from Illinois Department of Natural Resources and US Fish and Wildlife and are planning to wipe the endangered ecosystem found between the runways off the map in order to increase in cargo capacity using federal dollars. Several endangered plants were found here but the airport expansion's environmental impact statement conveniently left that out among other issues. If they are skimping on their environmental surveys I'm not sure what else they might be cutting corners on. Hopefully not customer safety.

These people are planning to destroy 8000 year old pristine old growth prairie in their upcoming expansion...some of only 150 acres left in Illinois, the PRARIE state. They conveniently deleted reference to the prairie on their website in the past month despite the fact they used to celebrate. This prairie is a rare source of biodiversity and important to the history of Illinois, as well as home to multiple endangered species. These people are short-sighted, immoral, corrupt, and greedy. SAVE BELL BOWL PRARIE.

This airport Rocks! I've lived in the area for over 15 years and flew to Sanford from there for the first time this year. It took me longer to get there than it did to check in and get through TSA. Which by the way was the most courteous, professional and funniest crew I've ever experienced! Oh and parking is only $7 a day!!! I almost did valet which was only $10. If the parking wasn't so close and open I would have. There is a small cafe upstairs and the food and drinks were very reasonable. There has definitely been some recent construction to the airport, plenty of seating and all of the gates, exists and baggage claim area has new big bold signage. Super cool exit from gates too! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there's really one one airline there and they are limited on the flights and destinations. Please get more airlines and I could see skipping Ohare for Rockford for sure!
