I ate there today, and I was so very very pleased that I did! The food was superior, the staff were very professional and helpful. Service was super! Loved the greens especially. I recommend this restaurant to Everybody! I will be going again, and I will be telling all my friends and family about this great restaurant!

I think their permanently closed. It looks like they haven’t been in business for a very long time. I looked over the menu and looked over the reviews and pictures and was excited to eat here, but unfortunately they were closed and the establishment looks like they’ve been closed for a while.?

The catfish was an 11/10. It was fried "hard" (just as we requested) AND seasoned to perfection. While we waited for our PERFECTLY fried and seasoned catfish ?, the chef brought us a sampling of his new "GREENS GUMBO." As he is considering adding this to his menu, he wanted feedback. But before even setting it down on our table, he checked with us for any seafood allergies and then went on to explain what ingredients were used to prepare the gumbo (I only remember collard greens and sword fish at this point.) Impressive and considerate to say the least. Perhaps clouded by extreme hunger, we may have missed parts of the explanation because while eating the absolutely DELICIOUS gumbo, we noticed what appeared to be andouille sausage. As we are both non-pork eaters, our mouths dropped. We called the chef back over, asked him, and to our delight, we were informed that indeed it was, but it was CHICKEN ANDOUILLE.
We were even more sold on the restaurant overall when we learned that he used NO pork products at all. All of his menu items are made with either turkey or chicken products to bring out their deliciousness! They definitely made TWO new HAPPY, FULL and SATISFIED customers that day!!
Parking: In it's located in the Edgebrook shopping center, so there is plenty of parking.

I don’t really give reviews but this one is well deserved. Omg! The food is so delicious here. The people were very nice, professional and helpful. I’m from Houston, Tx and was just out on a Sunday looking for a brunch spot and saw this gem on TikTok. I got the baked chicken with sweet potatoes, cornbread and Mac-n-cheese. I can’t wait until they open on Wednesday. This will definitely be my new spot.

When I say I’ve been living in the Rockford area since 2003 off and on and I’ve never had the treatment that I had a Sonny’s Place their food was phenomenal the service was excellent even the music was on point I highly recommend eating here the owner jerriah came out and introduced herself her it was totally a honor to be able to experience such a great environment and amazing food……… Stepper get your shoes ready she have something brewing so be ready!!!!
