My absolute favorite sushi place!
I've tried sushi from all over Rockford, it seems. And I have yet to find a favorite that surpasses Spider! They have some of the yummiest rolls. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always so kind.

The food here was decent, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. That said, the pricing really doesn’t match the portions or quality. I ordered the shrimp yakisoba and was disappointed to find only four shrimp, each cut into smaller pieces to stretch it out. For $18, the portion size felt skimpy and definitely not worth it. The tempura vegetables tasted good, but the variety was underwhelming—just a few pieces of asparagus and some kabocha squash. No sweet potato, no broccoli, which made it feel incomplete. We also tried the Samurai Roll, which was almost $20, and the spicy salmon inside was surprisingly bland with very little flavor. The sushi rolls in general felt overpriced compared to similar restaurants in the area. Overall, while the staff make the dining experience pleasant, the value for money just isn’t there.

The food was averagely good, service was acceptable and for a small environment it had a good atmosphere. Just needs a tad more flavor all around.

I paid 33 for gyoza and a Rockford roll and I love sushi there isn’t much I won’t eat and this was terrible. Like canned meat. I thought it may be comparable to the other spider sushi in Harrison but it is absolutely not. I will not return to this location. I will say the server who helped me I believe his name was Christian was very helpful and kind. If it wasn’t for him it would have been only 1 star all around.

Meh... It's kind of the McDonald's of sushi. Fake Asian influence fills the room which is about as dark as a nightclub. Staff are nice, my service was quick at lunch hour on Saturday. The Vegas roll tastes like an assortment of premade ingredients and is half the size of any other Vegas roll I've had anywhere. Gyoza is decent but most of us know that it comes from a frozen package. The rice is basic American rice, it's not even the type Asian restaurants use. Not a remarkable restaurant, don't waste your money unless your desperate for sushi. This is about equivalent to eating sushi from the supermarket.

My sushi rolls tasted good, but the seaweed was doubled wrapped making it much more difficult to chew than it should have been. The booth seats are inclined rather than flat, which hurt my back. Even basic California rolls were $10 rather than the $6-$8 you see at other sushi restaurants. Overall it wasn’t worth the cost and I’d recommend a cheaper sushi place for a better experience.
Spider Sushi is one of the best sushi places in the area. I don’t think I’ve tried a roll that I haven’t liked. They have a lot of variety and fully cooked or raw options are very good. I haven’t tried their other menu items, but I can say that their sushi is top notch. It’s reasonably priced too.

The food is very expensive. It tasted okay at best. The seats are hard and terrible, so if you have a bad back , don't go there.
Great atmosphere and super nice server! We had two different sushi rolls, New York and the Crunchy, and they were delicious! Highly recommend.
Horrible, very expensive, and they are so stingy with their ingredients to the point that if you order a shrimp tempura roll, they will give you a roll with NO shrimp tempura in it….un real.
Won’t be back.
Our server Elaina did a wonderful job and is so friendly. The food was delicious!
Slow and pricey. We placed our order at 6:33 according to our receipt, and didn't receive our food until 7:25. Meanwhile we watched countless bags of take out orders going out the door. $60 for two sushi rolls and two beers with tip seems quite expensive, especially since we both left hungry. And I am not one to usually disparage a waitress, but ours was anything but attentive. The food was great but I'm not sure if I would ever go back.
