Hands-down, the best family diner I’ve ever been to. The food quality was exceptionally great. Everything tasted fresh. The service was outstanding, and the staff were super nice. If I lived closer, I would come here often.

Breakfast on a Sunday morning. Not much of a crow when we were seated, the ‘host’ was not much of a greeter. Service was SLOW, food was lukewarm, toast was stone cold. Getting coffee refills seemed to be an imposition to the staff. I won’t be back.

It was my first time in a dinner and I loved the experience. It was the feeling of being in a movie. Loved it. The food was good and the portions were huge, very reasonable prices and great atmosphere. The service also very good. As I was in a group, there were very different dishes on the table and all good choices, mine was the “piccata chicken” chosen from chefs suggestion menu of the day. Interesting to see that type of chair on wheels.

First time here. At first was not impressed that customers walking in got drinks before we were ever asked if we wanted anything. BLT was ordered on buttered toast no mayo and it came out with globs of margarine on it sent it back to cook bacon longer. Worst sandwich.

This is a great place to eat. It's got a type of atmosphere where everyone is cared about and for. Like, the waitstaff are respected and cared about by the customers and vise versa, the customers are taken care of and respected by the waitstaff. The owner likes popping in occasionally to see how his customers are doing and making sure everyone is enjoying their time. If you're full of yourself this might not be the place for you, but if you're looking for some town community then you might love this place. My dad is the kind of person to get along with employees and he has made it a great experience overall. We're always welcomed in and allowed to sit wherever we want. Being a good person to other people definitely makes a difference!

I've eaten at the Sunrise before & always have been pleased. However, recently my travel companion & I had just arrived back in Rockford & were hungry for a late lunch. I remembered that the Sunrise on Wansford Way was open. When we got to the restaurant, the posted times on the window were 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Perfect! That gave us an hour till close. While we looked over menus, the waitress told us the restaurant would be closing at 2:30 due to the difficulty staffing the kitchen. The cook needed to get to another job by 3:00, she added. After ordering, I was told I couldn't have the soup that was supposed to come with my hot sandwich selection because the cook had already thrown it out. I good-naturedly chose a substitute side. When our orders came, my companion's sandwich was well-grilled & and tasty, but the bacon was undercooked. It was quite limp & fatty still. She observed that because the cook was rushing to leave, he didn't cook the bacon long enough. All this was tolerable, but no diner wants an employee hovering over them & talking to them nonstop. That is exactly what the waitress did. We could have no private conversation. Instead, she shared details of her personal life. When we had each gulped down only half our meals & the check was brought, again, the waitress literally would not budge from standing right before us while we fumbled for money. The food was fine, overall, but eaten in haste, discomfort, & awkwardness--not at all what we wanted!Here is advice for the owner & manager: Close at 2:00 p.m. And let diners eat in peace.

What a stormy morning, but a great breakfast here may the day much better. Great service!!!eggs,hash browns,bacon , and wheat toast and sausage links, coffee ☕️ too! Waffles and peaches hash browns and bacon!!

My wife and I just recently started going here for lunch since we work close by. Every time we have gone so far, our service has been great. Their cheeseburgers are delicious, and my wife said their Turkey Club was perfect with crispy bacon. Their breakfast skillet was also excellent. Can't wait to try more of the menu.
