I wanted a local place for a bite of steak without breaking the bank. Tavern on Clark had a very reasonable lunch menu. I ordered the Chimichurri Steak Frites and my friend ordered the Blackened Chicken Salad. Both were very tasty, and we were pleased with the portion size. The beer/cocktail list was varied and reasonable. Excellent service. I'm sure others have mentioned the neighboring Tiger Tail Lounge. It did make for interesting conversation.

Our crock of French Onion soup was served just minutes before our main meal was served. I had the ribeye with topping of sautéed mushrooms. Mushrooms were way overdone and cool. Chef's choice vegetables were also just warm. We think our food set after plating for some time. Our waitress gave us a free dessert to make up for the issues but still left us with us with a less than desirable experience this time. We will try it again as we have always loved the food and...
