Thunder Bay Grille Rockford

I was attending a group meeting. I MUST eat Gluten Free due to Celiac Disease - it is NOT a lifestyle CHOICE! I asked a woman wearing a gold name tag with medium length brown hair if it was possible for me to get a plain piece of chicken and she flatly said NO, and turned away. I then said excuse me but if I pay a supplement can I get a plain piece of fish? She said “No! Can you see I am trying to talk to this lady?” I told her that I am a paying customer and told her I will be contacting the owners. I leaned forward to try to read her name Tage hidden by her lapel and she yelled out DON’t touch Me! She almost struck me but stopped herself. I have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY IN MY LIFE.

The food is excellent! and generous portions. The wait staff was superb, best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Highest recommendations for the Thunder Bay Grille!!!

Food was a good variety and tasted great. The seafood fondu was scrumptious and the bread and garlic oil starter is so tasty. Just stopped in as was close to hotel but definitely would go back!!

The Sunday brunch is great

We stopped here on the way up to Wisconsin Dell's. Wanted to get a decent meal while in the area and don't want fast food. It's located right off the expressway.

Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and the server went out of her way to accommodate my needs.

We arrived for our dinner reservation and was seated promptly. Our server DID NOT come to our table for 15 min. When she finally came to our table and took our drink orders it was another 10 min before we got our drinks. We placed our orders and we were supposed to get soup and bread before our main dinner that was another 15 min. She was not coming to our table. She was going to other tables that were seated AFTER us and was going to their tables instead. My husband and I were really dumbfounded as why she was avoiding us as we did nothing wrong. NEVER checked on us to see if we needed refills on drinks or asked us how our dinner was. SOMEONE ELSE brought our dinner and finally refilled my drink. We were there OVER 2 HOURS!!! SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE!!! The food was EXCELLENT. We watched the server that we had pay more attention to her other tables and those people that were seated AFTER us were served and given their checks in just over an hour. Other servers in our section were very attentive to ALL of their tables and made sure that they were well taken care of. By the time we left there was really Noone in the restaurant and we don't understand why she took FOREVER to serve us. We had 6 pm reservations and it was well AFTER 8 PM when we FINALLY left! Last time we were there we had great service and excellent food! We didn't ask for anything crazy and never demanded anything. Waiting 15 min before she even approached our table when we got there was a step in the wrong direction. Over 2 hours for a steak and prime rib... I guess for our next special event we will go somewhere else where the servers are attentive and want to make sure you get what you need.

Breakfast buffet... Do the cooks actually taste the food before it's served?

The brownies are not good... Don't take my word for it... Take a bite and see for yourself.

Prime rib couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. Your a professional MEAT restaurant should the meat be tough or so tender i can cut it with a bread knife? I've been to hotels that cook better prime rib?.

Omelettes to order were amazing give that guy a raise!!!

Wait staff are so on top of things it's like they are pestering you... These peeps deserved every bit of the $100 tip

We ate here 9/27 at 5 pm. Sabrina is amazing. She provided excellent service. The host was very friendly. The food was amazing. Will definitely vist again anytime we are in Rockford. Over all it was a perfect dinner! Thanks!!!

It took a long time to receive our food and the waitress took forever to come to our table despite the fact that the restaurant was sparse with customers. I ordered the chicken alfredo, and it was flavorless. I would not recommend this restaurant with the high menu prices and bland food.

I got the steak salad, the steak was not done and didn't taste fresh. The waiter didn't ask how I wanted it cooked. I clearly told my daughter again no pork so she switched meals and the waitress still brought us pork on the plate!
