Rookies Sports Bar & Grill (Roselle)

I came here expecting to enjoy a nice night out. The food was actually very good — flavorful dishes and delicious sauces that really stood out. Unfortunately, the service at the bar completely ruined the experience.

From the moment I arrived, the two women working behind the bar paid no real attention to the customers. I ordered my food, and it was the kitchen staff who actually helped me. The bartenders spent most of the night chatting with a man I didn’t know, rather than serving or checking on guests.

When I finished my meal, I paid my full bill and intended to leave a small tip because of the poor service. That’s when things took a disturbing turn. The bartenders created an unnecessary “problem” to get me to sign something, and when I refused, they pressured and intimidated me into leaving a bigger tip before I could leave. I felt cornered and very uncomfortable.

No customer should be treated this way. Great food doesn’t excuse unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful behavior. I will not be coming back, and I hope management takes a hard look at the kind of service being provided here.

The owner is the man, thank you. However, I need to tell the lady manager that she needs to smile more, as a manager she give off negative energy. I'm giving this five stars because I like what the owners are doing...

I play for the two roller derby teams that practice at Coachlite down the street from Rookie’s (Chicago-Style Roller Derby women’s+ league and Chicago Bruise Brothers men’s+ league) and we love coming to Rookies after practices!!! Best place ever!! Great service and the food is always top notch. We are hooked on the $0.99 wings special and get them every Sunday and Monday.

This was wonderful. The staff was friendly and patient, checked in on our table and asked if we wanted anything else/refills. The food was splendid, the drinks were delicious, the beer was good and popcorn was crunchy. Definitely worth coming back!

Awesome location!! Phenomenal service!! The Mai Tai was incredible 🍍🍋‍🟩🌴!! The girls behind the bar were extremely attentive and engaging!! 💯 the best place to just chill out after a long day!!

I know other reviews said they had problems with service. I did not. I was not impressed with the chicken wings. I did order to go. I got the mango habanero chicken wings. They were not spicy at all. I also think the chicken wings are pre packaged, which isn't so bad as long as you can cook them well.

Not legendary wings

I'm annoyed because we didn't see our waitress for 10 min after we sat down. Then we found a hair in our food - they comped the food and took it away, which was 100% fine, but still an inconvenience. Then, as the bill came, they cleared our plates, and as my head was down signing the bill, they took away the food I was finishing. Overall, good food, just a weird combo of service. However, they were very nice!

Had the march madness spicy polish sausage special .... Me and my wife .. they forgot the ....... Dijon mustard on both sandwiches.... Hmmmmm o well
