I love coming to Carmine's been there many times. While the food is good I wish the portions were a little smaller, had the veal parmesan , very large piece and very large price 40.00. Too much for one person, took more than half home. Please, smaller and maybe 30.00 -- that would help.
We had a reservation and arrived early. The hostess, after making us wait for 10 minutes, tried to seat us on the patio, where the temperature was 90 degrees and humid. We declined. She next offered us a table near the waitstaff station and we declined that as well. Finally she gave us a decent table, but it appeared she was struggling and it was only 4:30. The restaurant had plenty of tables available so not sure what the problem was. Things got better as we got a competent waiter...
Portions were good Food was average The coconut shrimp was too dry Waiter ignored when asked to get me hot water Sea bass was very good Stuffed mushrooms were below average Veal Parmesan was below average Chocolate cake dry
